TIRAK Taekwondo International Championship 2026 & VTKD SEA Series - Thailand Leg πΉππ₯π₯
Our athletes competed across Poomsae, Kyorugi, and Virtual Taekwondo, gaining valuable experience against strong competitors from Thailand and the region. For many of our students, this was their first overseas championship, and we are proud of the courage, determination, and sportsmanship they displayed throughout the event. πͺ
Beyond competing, Team J H Kim also played a role in supporting and managing the Virtual Taekwondo competition β reflecting our belief that Taekwondo is not just about participation and achievement, but also about service, leadership, and giving back to the community that helps our sport grow. π
A special congratulations to Master Lai Han Seng, who achieved two Gold Medals in Poomsae, including the Pair Poomsae event with Ms Joanne Teo. π₯π₯
Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and organisers for a successful championship. We look forward to the next event and the opportunities and challenges it will bring. π

We are proud of every student who represented their schools with courage, discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the season.
A special congratulations to Team HCI for retaining both the Boysβ and Girlsβ Overall Poomsae Championship titles, and to Team SJI for maintaining their strong performances across both Poomsae and Kyorugi. π
Whether you stood on the podium or not, every training session, every match, and every performance contributed to your growth as an athlete and individual.
Well done to all students, coaches, parents, officials, and volunteers who made NSG 2026 a memorable experience. π
National School Games 2026 β Kyorugi π₯π₯
Held on 11β13 May 2026, the Kyorugi events brought together many strong Primary and Secondary School athletes from across Singapore for three intense days of competition. πͺ
With the body-kick-only competition format adding an extra tactical challenge, our athletes had to adapt quickly while maintaining control, speed, and fighting spirit throughout their matches β especially with any kick or hand technique to the face resulting in immediate disqualification. Moreover, for a number of our students, this was also their very first NSG Kyorugi experience, and they stepped onto the competition floor with courage and determination, delivering performances to be proud of. π
Congratulations as well to Team SJI, whose overall placings β based on the combined results of both Poomsae and Kyorugi β reflected the tremendous effort put in throughout the season. The team maintained their 3rd Overall Placing in the C Division for the 2nd consecutive year, and achieved a historic 4th Overall Placing in the B Division. ππ
Well done to all athletes for your hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the NSG season.

HCI once again demonstrated their strength in Poomsae, retaining both the Boysβ and Girlsβ Division Championship titles for the 8th consecutive year. ππ
Congratulations to all athletes for representing your schools and teams with discipline, perseverance, and spirit. Our team will next be travelling to Thailand for another exciting experience. π

With large and highly competitive categories, our students rose to the challenge and delivered outstanding performances β giving their best for themselves, their schools, and their teammates. πͺ
Beyond the results, NSG continues to be an important platform for growth, resilience, and learning through competition.
A big thank you to the organisers, referees, volunteers, parents, and supporters who helped make the event possible. π

At J H Kim Taekwondo Institute, we are not just participants β we are also the team behind the championships.

π Commitment to Lifelong Learning & Better Coaching
We are pleased to share that Master Lai Han Seng, Head of Schools at J H Kim Taekwondo, has been awarded a Master of Science in Gerontology (with Merit) from the University of Southampton.
This marks his fourth masterβs degree, following graduate studies in computing at the National University of Singapore, exercise science at the Edith Cowan University, and early childhood education at Monash University.
As the chief architect of our programmes, Master Lai integrates knowledge from these disciplines to shape the development of our studentsβnot only in technical skill, but also in physical growth, learning, well-being, and long-term participation in martial arts across different stages of life. Our instructors are guided by this philosophy, enabling them to teach with greater clarity, care, and responsibility.
This milestone reflects our continued commitment to evidence-informed practice and high-quality coaching for our students and families.
