The Miracle of Ashura: Finding a Way Forward When Doors Seem Closed 🌊✨

The 10th of Muharram—the day of Ashura—is not just a day of fasting. It is a profound reminder for every student and parent that no situation is ever beyond the help of Allah.
Think about the immense stress of preparing for major milestones like the O-Levels or balancing daily schoolwork. Sometimes, the academic pressure feels like a vast sea before us, with no clear path through it.

This is exactly where the lesson of Prophet Musa (AS) guides our youth. When he and the believers stood before the sea with danger approaching from behind, the situation appeared completely impossible. There was no apparent escape. Yet, Musa (AS) never lost hope. He responded with absolute certainty in his Creator:
"No! Indeed, my Lord is with me; He will guide me." (Qur'an 26:62)

Moments later, Allah commanded the sea to split, creating a path where no path existed.

Our Lesson at TAWTS Thinkers:
Ashura teaches our students that when a challenge looks impossible to us, it is never impossible for Allah. As we mould our students to be the best Muslims, excelling in both their academic and personal life, we teach them to combine hard work with complete trust in Allah. Put in the effort, study hard, and know that Allah can open doors of success you never thought possible.

Following the Sunnah:
Ashura is also a day on which Muslims fast, following the guidance of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who said regarding Musa (AS): "We have more right to Musa than they do." Out of gratitude to Allah and honour for this great Prophet, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted on this day and encouraged us to do the same.

On this blessed day of Ashura, encourage your children to reflect on their challenges. Whatever academic or personal sea stands before them, remind them of the words of Musa (AS): "Indeed, my Lord is with me; He will guide me."

The Prophet ﷺ also informed that fasting on Ashura expiates the sins of the preceding year.

May Allah accept our ibadah, ease our struggles, and place barakah in our time, our families, and our community. May we emerge from this Ramadhan transformed — as better servants of Allah and stronger believers for the ummah.
