4 weeks out from PSLE Math. ⏳ The final sprint begins.

With Prelims wrapping up and September just around the corner, it's completely normal for both parents and P6 students to feel the heat right now.

In these final lessons at The Math Lab, we’re keeping things steady — zero panic, just focused revision, smart exam pacing, and building the confidence to tackle Paper 1 & 2 with a clear head.

To all our P6 parents: your encouragement and reassurance at home make a world of difference right now. Let's work together to cheer them across the finish line! Drop a '💪' in the comments below to send some positive energy to our P6 batch! ✨

Blanking out right after a 3-hour study session? 🧠💥

Studying harder isn't working—studying smarter is. If you want formulas, heuristics, and concepts to actually stick before exam day, try these 5 simple retention hacks:

1. Active Recall (Test yourself without peeking at answers)
2. One-Page Summary Notes (Your own words = stronger memory)
3. Targeted Practice Questions (Apply the concepts immediately)
4. Daily 15-Minute Micro-Revision (Consistency beats cramming)
5. Teach It Out Loud (If you can explain it, you own it)

PSLE Math is about a month away, and this is usually the stretch where a bit of focused practice on the right topics makes the biggest difference — not cramming everything, but tightening up the areas where marks tend to slip.

From what we've seen over the years, fractions, ratio, and multi-step problem sums are often where students need that extra bit of guided practice before the big day.

We've opened a few extra PSLE Math revision slots this September for students who want that final push with confidence heading into the exam.

If this sounds like something your child could use, feel free to message us or drop a comment below — happy to share more about how we can help. 😊

With PSLE just weeks away, the tension at home is real. But here’s the thing: the best thing you can give your child right now isn't extra drills—it's your calm.

When the home front feels steady, sleep is protected, and effort is celebrated over scores, confidence follows naturally.

Let us take the weight of the Math revision off your shoulders so you can focus on being their safe space. Together, we’ve got this. 💪

"My child is just not a math person."

We hear this from parents often. But honestly? It's almost never true.

Math is all about building blocks. If one foundational topic didn’t fully click back in Primary 4 or 5, everything built on top of it can start to feel confusing — even for kids who are otherwise very capable.

Once you identify and strengthen that shaky foundation, many concepts start to make much more sense, and learning can become a lot more manageable. 🧩

Parents, which specific topic does your child always seem to get stuck on? (Ratios, Speed, Algebra...?) Drop it in the comments below👇

This is exactly why we do what we do. 🥰

We have a P6 student who started this term struggling at AL5 in Math. Recently, her mom told us she moved all the way up to AL2!

We are just so, so proud of how hard she has worked. It’s a proud tutor moment for sure! 🧡

Comparing fractions is one of those things that eats up more exam time than it should — especially when kids default to finding a common denominator every single time.

Cross-multiplying gets to the same answer with way less working, and it's a small thing that adds up under time pressure during the actual exam.

If your child does this a lot, it might be worth showing them this shortcut.

8 weeks to go! The countdown to PSLE has officially begun, and while it might feel daunting, this is exactly the stage where consistent, focused revision makes the biggest difference.

At The Math Lab, we're gearing our lessons to sharpen problem-solving speed and exam confidence, one topic at a time. Here's to a strong, steady final stretch together.
