‘The Rockstar Experience’ is featured in Straits Times today, in a piece on arts activities that help children build confidence and emotional resilience.

Starting school or moving up a level might be challenging for children. New routines, new faces, new expectations, and often big feelings they don’t quite have the words for yet.

Music does something useful here that’s easy to overlook: Picking up an instrument for the first time, working out you’re actually good at drums or that piano just clicks for you, that’s a real confidence boost for a child. It’s also just a space to focus on something that isn’t school, which matters more than we sometimes give credit for.

In this workshop, your child gets a proper go at guitar, piano and drums, not a quick demo of each. By the end, they’re playing together as a band with the other kids. Watching them enjoy making music together is the part parents remember the most.

SG Culture Pass credits cover this one too, so if you’ve got credits sitting there, you can sign up with no extra cash needed.

Ever wonder why some songs just hit different while others fall flat? A lot of it comes down to arrangement, and that’s exactly what our instructor Jeff can teach you!

Our Pop Music Arranging 101 takes you inside the anatomy of chart topping tracks across Dance, R&B, Rock, Folk Acoustic and Ballads.

🔸Break down hit songs and see why they actually work
🔸Get hands on with chord progressions, vocal layering and instrumental textures
🔸Train your ears to catch the small details that separate a good arrangement from a pro one
🔸Learn how to layer sounds and rhythms for that commercial sound.

By the end of the course, you‘ll know how to shape arrangements that genuinely captivate listeners and leave a lasting impression.

🎹Pre-requisite: Basic knowledge of chords and harmony

🗓️13, 20 and 27 Sept (Sun), 3 to 6PM

Spots are very limited, WhatsApp 98560487 to secure your spot!

We asked our founder who his favourite songwriter of all time is, and without missing a beat, he said Gary Barlow of

If you’ve ever been taught by Keith, you already knew that; Gary and his music is basically a recurring topic in his songwriting lessons. He might just be the biggest Take That fan in Singapore and he’s not hiding it 🤭

Now tell us, who’s YOUR favourite songwriter?

✨If music is your passion, it’s time to make it your career.

The industry doesn’t just want singers anymore. It wants artistes who can write, arrange and produce their own music too.

That’s exactly what our Diploma in Songwriting & Production teaches, and it’s the first programme of its kind in Singapore.

You don’t need any music background to start. Over 12 months, you’ll build real skills in songwriting, music theory, arrangement and production, the kind that actually gets you hired or heard.

And when you graduate, you’re not done. SOMA grads get guaranteed placement into Year 2 of AIM’s degree programmes, Australia’s leading music institution.

Curious about entry requirements, fees, or what your career could look like after this? Come to our dialogue session with our Founder and CEO, Keith Kwok, where we’ll walk you through all 3 Diploma programmes and answer your questions directly.

Spots are limited. DM us to save your seat.

Did you know you can write a song in 1 min 🎹

Start with a simple 4-chord chord progression.
Copy this: F - G - Am - G, or choose your own.

Hit record on your phone or DAW and just sing anything that comes to mind. Keep it simple. Repeat it over and over.
Something powerful happens when you keep repeating a melodic idea.

Once you’ve got a decent pile of ideas? Stop. Sit back and listen. Pick the ones that make you go “ooh.”

Start shaping them: stretch a note, shift the rhythm, shorten a phrase. This is called Motif Development. More on that soon.

And just like that, you’ve got a verse!

If you’re serious about learning the craft of songwriting, we’ve got an introductory course that teaches techniques just like this and more! Link in bio.
