As an experienced musician & a teacher who trained under the umbrella of some of the 20th Century's most elite piano professors in Poland, Germany, and the Soviet Union, with a sensitive interest in nurturing young talents to become accomplished musicians, my teaching methodology in Piano Technique adapted from the essence of Russian, German and French Schools enables students to learn their scale
In recent years, my students have consistently achieved top-three placements in competitions, often winning gold or silver awards. This is primarily due to my strict attention to performance details—every aspect, from note articulation and hand posture to playing angles, is meticulously guided. Their success is never solely reliant on natural talent or musical instinct.
Last lesson of this year. 10 years old can finally play fantasie impromptu with full speed despite having small hands that can barely reach an octave, after 3 months of practice. I am really pleased with his determination to improve, and I'm also proud of myself for developing his finger strength and independence so well.

Congratulations, Keya, for earning the highest score among grade 8 candidates in Singapore with a 98/100. She is invited to the conferment ceremony.
She is among the few students who have gained mastery of the skill that I teach. Horowitz once said “The piano is the easiest instrument to play in the beginning, and the hardest to master in the end.” Determination and perseverance is the key to success.
Preparation for the Student’s Recital this weekend, showcasing the wide variety of levels from beginner right through to diploma.
Found this video taken in 2020 when I was teaching my Grade 8 student. Playing classical music requires good technique to produce variety of sound. Every phrase must be elegently shaped, hence every wrist/arm/body movement, application of weight and the height of finger stroke matters.

It’s been a while since I did accompaniment for face-to-face diploma exam.
Seeing candidates enter the recital hall brings back the memories of 20 years ago when I was doing my Bachelor of Music .

Congratulations Kaylor for achieving promising pianist award! He is only 9 years old but we signed him up for the category for 16 years old and above as he is playing a diploma piece with longer duration
