Ever felt like you’re not quite as capable as others think you are? You’re not alone.

Imposter syndrome can make us doubt our achievements, attribute our success to luck or help from others, and worry that one day we’ll be “found out” - even when there is clear evidence of our abilities and accomplishments.

Perfectionism, high expectations, early success and high-pressure environments can all contribute to these feelings.

Recognising these feelings is a good place to start. Acknowledge your achievements, set realistic expectations, practise positive self-talk, and reach out for support when you need it.

Remember: your achievements are worth recognising. Give yourself credit for how far you’ve come. 💙

Need support? Our Student Wellbeing & Counselling Team is here to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out.

We are delighted to share that two emerging leaders from our MBA programme, Dani Juraimi and Syazwan Sabirin, recently represented Murdoch University Singapore at the 14th University Scholars Leadership Symposium by Humanitarian Affairs Asia in Bangkok from 4-7 August 2026.

As Dani shared with us,

“Over four days, we had the opportunity to learn from global leaders, social entrepreneurs, and fellow delegates who challenged us to rethink leadership - not as a position, but as a shared responsibility.

As Ms Janice Leong shared, "There is no path. Path is made by walking." It's a reminder that leadership is built through the choices we make every day.

The most inspiring takeaways were hearing from women who are driving meaningful change in their communities, whether by creating educational opportunities for underserved children, protecting wildlife, or using technology to empower future generations. Their stories reinforce that impactful leadership begins with purpose and the courage to take action.

Representing Murdoch University Singapore on the international stage was truly an honour. Thank you for this opportunity to learn alongside inspiring individuals from around the world and return home with new perspectives, meaningful friendships, and a renewed commitment to creating positive impact.”

We wish to congratulate Dani and Syazwan on this special achievement and extend our thanks to Associate Professor Nuttawuth Muenjohn of Murdoch Business School for facilitating this opportunity for our students!

Your experience matters to us, and we’d love to hear from you.

The Student Experience Survey (SES) is now open, and eligible Murdoch University students in their first or final year of Undergraduate or Postgraduate study may have received an invitation to participate.

The survey is an opportunity to share your views about your university experience — what is working well and where improvements can be made. Your feedback helps Murdoch University and Kaplan better understand the student experience and identify areas where we can continue to improve.

How to participate
Please check your Murdoch student email inbox for your personalised Student Experience Survey invitation. The invitation will be sent from:
[email protected], or
[email protected]

If you have received an invitation, simply follow the link in the email to complete the survey.

The survey closes at the end of August 2026, so we encourage you to take a few minutes to share your feedback before it closes.

The first 150 students to complete the survey will receive a complimentary Murdoch Tote Bag or Document Bag.

Every response counts, and your feedback can help shape the experience of current and future students.

Thank you for taking the time to make your voice heard.

As part of the Disruptive Leaders program in Singapore, Westpac Scholars had the privilege of hearing from Ms Audrey Tan, entrepreneur and Co-Founder of PlayMoolah, who shared her deeply personal leadership journey - from launching a startup in Silicon Valley, navigating founder challenges, stepping away from her business, and returning years later to rebuild it from the ground up.

Audrey encouraged students to embrace setbacks as opportunities for growth, reminding them that leadership is rarely a straight path. Through stories of perseverance, reinvention and resilience, she highlighted the importance of choosing the right partners, leading with integrity, and having the courage to make difficult decisions.

The session also explored the importance of financial wellbeing, emotional resilience and lifelong learning. Audrey shared practical insights into investing, managing uncertainty, and building healthy financial habits, while emphasising that true success comes from aligning our values with our actions.

Perhaps Audrey’s most powerful message was that crises can become opportunities for reinvention, and that community, service and faith can provide the strength to navigate life's toughest challenges.

Students left inspired to pursue their goals with confidence, remain open to new possibilities, and lead with purpose and authenticity.

That's a wrap on MADCAMP 2026!

It was fantastic to see MADCAMP return as an in-person showcase, bringing together students, academics, and industry professionals to celebrate the power of strategic communication. This year's campaigns explored dementia and Singapore's low fertility rates, demonstrating how thoughtful, research-driven communication can drive meaningful impact.

A sincere thank you to Anjna Vij Nihalani for her leadership and unwavering support in making this event possible. We are also incredibly grateful to our industry and academic panellists: Marion Ang (TriOn & Co), Clarence Lim (The Hoffman Agency), Associate Professor Renae Desai FCPRA, Dr Mary-Anne Romano, and Dr Amy Lim. Thank you for sharing your expertise and providing invaluable feedback to our presenting students.

We also extend our appreciation to Murdoch University Singapore, Kaplan Singapore, and our collaboration partner, Carer, for their continued support in making MADCAMP 2026 a success.

The IPRS Murdoch Student Chapter was proud to contribute through event planning and media coverage, helping capture the creativity, passion, and hard work of our Strategic Communication students.

Congratulations to every student, lecturer, panellist, and volunteer who played a part in making this year's MADCAMP such a memorable success. We look forward to seeing the next generation of strategic communicators continue to make a difference and make an impact.
