National Patrol Camp XI 🏕️
At the NPC XI in Sarimbun Scout Camp, eight of our Scouts had a challenging yet rewarding 5D4N experience from November 14–18, 2024.
Day 1
The camp began with a tough start as our tents were missing some parts, and the heavy rain left our belongings soaked. Despite this, we tried to make do with the situation and stay calm under pressure.
Day 2
Learning from day 1, we waterproofed everything, ensuring we stayed dry despite the unpredictable weather. The day was filled with SPICES activities, where we not only tested our skills but also built friendships, strengthening our bonds as a team.
Day 3
The heavy rain delayed some activities, but we made the best of it by supporting one another and embracing the Scout spirit. At the Open House, our scouts helped younger scouts learn knot-tying, earning the Friendliness proficiency flag. We also had an outing to the museum and cemetery which deepened our understanding of Singapore’s history and heritage.
Day 4
As we were preparing to leave camp, we were tired but proud of what we had achieved. We struck camp and assisted other units in cleaning up.
Through our efforts, we earned the Friendliness and MasterChef Proficiency flags at the end of the camp.
This camp tested us in following the Scout Law, where we had to have courage in all difficulties. It definitely developed us to uphold the values of what it means to be a Scout—perseverance, responsibility, and service to others. We not only earned badges but also learned valuable life skills that will stay with us long after the camp.
