The tournament will feature two categories:
➔ Novice — for debaters who have less than 3 open breaks at open tournaments
➔ Open — open to all debaters

SMUDS is excited to (re)announce the return of SMU Novice Debating Championships (SNDC) for 2025, with NEW (REDUCED) PRICES!

SMUDS is commited to keeping SNDC accessible and wallet-friendly; our prices were initially set higher to cover operational costs, but we have managed to reduce these through negotiations with various parties and want to pass these cost-savings on to YOU 🤩

Happening this November, SNDC is our flagship BP-format tournament tailored for pre-tertiary and novice debaters.

➔ Have not broken at a major tournament (WUDC, ABP, UADC, etc.)
➔ High School speakers competing within this category are still eligible for High School Speaker awards

➔ To compete within this category, both speakers from the team must be in high school

We've been channelling all the learnings from Hammers into planning our next tournament — and we'll be back at it again with SNDC 2025!
