Children greatly enjoy mark making experiences, the sensation of the marker gliding across large canvases and the joy of creating marks that tell a story – their own stories.
Mark making is more than just scribbling! Children develop creativity, pre-writing skills, coordination, and mark making experiences with their peers fosters interaction and communication too! ☺️

We watched the gardeners prune the trees along our street and it was so amusing! We shouted “Be careful!” as we watched him go higher and higher. The sea almond tree is now shaped with the larger branches cut! ☺️
At GU+MMI, we love bringing our lessons outdoors and we embrace spontaneous learning opportunities like these! We believe in giving children flexibility of time and fostering their curiosity of the world around.
Did you know that there are people who specialize in caring for trees and they are called, Arborists? We didn’t! But we know now 🤗

At GU+MMI, we value fostering critical thinking dispositions. In this activity, our children were tasked to bring a ball from one end of the room to the other without them touching it and without the ball touching the floor!
They were...
😜Curious
They wondered how that would work, they wondered how that was going to be possible but they were curious to find out how.
🧐 Flexible and Reflective Thinkers
They realised that they could utilise the train tracks in their classroom and also use foam blocks as pillars to support the tracks.
☺️ Team players
They were able to collaborate and split tasks accordingly.
😏 Persistent
Despite the challenge being tough, they wanted to persist and make sure that the ball would reach the other end.
Do you think they succeeded?😆 These dispositions help them become effective lifelong learners through a very fun activity.
