🍇 A Day of Loving Service at Good Shepherd Student Care – 19 May 2025

What was supposed to be “International Grape Day” at GSSC became something even more meaningful—a Day of Loving Service.

With four staff members unexpectedly on medical leave, the centre was short-handed. It wasn’t possible to prepare the grapes in time for lunch. But come 4pm, the older girls stepped up—gathering together to wash the grapes just in time for everyone to enjoy them during afternoon snack.

This simple act of care and teamwork turned an ordinary day into something extraordinary. A quiet moment, a shared task, a whole lot of heart. 💚

Our heartfelt thanks to one of our generous alumna for sponsoring the fruits that brought so much joy to the girls yesterday.

CONFESSIONS OF A SMILING SURVIVOR by Marymount alumna Ying Ying 🌟

From the quiet corners of our school library to the shelves of Kinokuniya and the National Library, Ying Ying’s dream has come full circle — and now, she’s giving back.

Her debut book, Confessions of a Smiling Survivor, is an inspiring and heartfelt read on resilience, hope, courage and love through life’s unpredictable seasons. From childhood stories to career challenges, caregiving journeys to medical battles, Ying Ying weaves together short, engaging chapters filled with humor, insight and strength.

Ying Ying (author) and her proofreader are both proud alumnae of Marymount Convent School. The book even includes nostalgic chapters about her formative years at Marymount, making it especially meaningful for fellow alumnae. This book is not only a personal triumph, but also a celebration of the values and spirit nurtured in our school halls.
