What a celebration it was! Last week, our school marked Racial Harmony Day with a burst of colour, culture and community β€” from ketupat weaving and rangoli art to dazzling dance performances. Our CCE Ambassadors and Wellness Champs kept the energy high with interactive booths, games and Conversation Boxes in collaboration with the Singapore Kindness Movement, sparking curiosity and meaningful connections across cultures. Our Parent Support Group added a special touch, immersing students in authentic cultural experiences through traditional ethnic games, saree draping and henna. It was a joyful reminder of the beautiful diversity and friendships that make Singapore home.

From coding and live orchestral music to pastry making, automotive engineering, and careers exploration, our Sec 1 to 3 students enjoyed a whirlwind of authentic, hands-on experiences throughout LSP2. Whether they were cracking code, rolling dough, discovering Singapore's story, acquiring financial literacy, or imagining their future selves, every activity sparked curiosity, built real-world skills, and deepened connections β€” with their interests, their community, and one another. Across all three levels, as learning came alive, students didn't just learn about the world; they stepped into it, led with heart, and grew together in ways that no textbook alone could offer.

The school community came together to celebrate our diverse artistic talents at Garden Fiesta VI – The Garden of Unity. Through performances that interwove imaginative stories with cherished school memories, our students showcased grit, empathy, and an enduring school spirit. More than a display of talent, the event showed what the SGS family can do when we come together as one.

It was a week filled with excitement as SGS hosted students and teachers from Sekolah Tinggi Perempuan Raja Isteri (STPRI), Brunei, for the Inaugural School Twinning Programme in May. πŸŽ‰ Over five enriching days, our Brunei friends journeyed with SGS buddies to experience school life in Singapore, including hands-on Applied Learning Modules in Interior Design, Forensic Science, Early Childhood Education, and Business & Entrepreneurship. The week was filled with wonderful cultural exchanges, from a traditional kompang welcome and a gulingtangan performance by STPRI students, to a communal Nasi Ambeng meal and Teh Tarik-making session at Kampong Glam, whilst exploring iconic Singapore landmarks. We are grateful for the friendships forged and memories made and we look forward to many more years of meaningful ties between SGS and STPRI! 🌏
