We warmly welcome TLW Schools from Kulai, Johor, Malaysia, to Greentree Montessori.
Today, we had the pleasure of hosting their team for a professional learning visit. During their time with us, they observed our prepared environments, explored how our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to support children's independence, and gained insights into our teaching and classroom management practices.
We are grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions with fellow educators who share a passion for early childhood education. Visits like these provide valuable opportunities for mutual learning and professional growth.
We look forward to future opportunities for continued collaboration and exchange.

Greentree’s Bridging Program has officially begun.
Over the next few months, our graduating children will enter a special final chapter of their Greentree journey. Children from different campuses will come together in larger learning communities, meet new teachers and classmates, take on new routines, and gradually prepare for the next stage of their education.
The Bridging Program is not about rushing children ahead. It is about helping them take the strong foundations they have already built at Greentree and apply them with greater independence, confidence, and responsibility in a more structured learning environment.
At their first session today, we were heartened to see our children already settling comfortably into the new rhythm. They listened attentively to their teachers, followed instructions, adjusted to new classmates and expectations, and took part in the day with confidence and ease.
Throughout the Bridging Program, our children will apply their existing foundations in English, Chinese, Mathematics, and Project Work to learning experiences that are closer to the local primary school format. They will also be introduced to structured lessons, group learning, daily responsibilities, homework routines, presentations, field experiences, and leadership opportunities.
This journey will eventually culminate in our 3 days 2 nights Graduation Camp, a meaningful milestone that marks the final chapter of their Greentree experience.
We are so proud of how beautifully they have begun. This is more than preparation for their next school. It is preparation for life.

After weeks of planning, researching, shaping, painting, arranging, and trying again, our Elementary children at Greentree proudly completed their very own 3D Solar System model.
What began as an exploration of the planets slowly became something much bigger.
The children studied the sequence of the planets, observed their colours and features, compared their sizes, and thought carefully about how each one should be represented. They moulded the planets by hand, painted them one by one, prepared the structure using recycled cardboard, and worked together to bring the entire Solar System into form.
This was not a one-day activity. It was a project that asked for patience, focus, teamwork, and commitment over time.
There were decisions to make, problems to solve, details to refine, and moments where the children had to return to their work and improve it. Through each step, they were not just learning about the Solar System. They were learning how to research, create, persevere, and take pride in completing something meaningful.
By the end, what stood before them was more than a model.
It was a record of their effort, curiosity, and ownership. A beautiful reminder that when children are given time, trust, and purpose, they are capable of creating something truly remarkable.

On Thursday, our children embarked on a special field trip to watch the ballet performance “Peter & Blue’s Treasure Hunt” by Singapore Ballet, a remarkable production specially designed for young audiences.
Many of the children were immediately drawn into the performance, especially those who are learning ballet themselves. There was excitement, anticipation, and wonder as they watched the story unfold on stage through movement, music, and expression.
What made the experience even more meaningful was discovering that one of the ballet artists, Ms Theresa Tan, is an alumna of Greentree Montessori.
Theresa had personally reached out to invite our children and families to the performance, and we were incredibly proud to see one of our former students pursuing her passion professionally today. Theresa first joined Greentree at just 9 months old and graduated in 2006. During her years at Greentree, Theresa was already deeply passionate about dance and would often participate enthusiastically in the school’s regular dance sessions and performances during Forest Fair.
Recognising her strong interest and potential from a young age, Ms Soh (founder of Greentree Montessori) had encouraged Theresa’s mother to continue supporting her passion for dance, even recommending a ballet school at the time.
When our children learned that she too once sat in the very same classrooms as them, their excitement grew even more.
Moments like these remind children that their dreams are worth pursuing, and that the passions they hold today may one day grow into something extraordinary through effort, perseverance, and determination.

Today, we concluded Session 4 of our Parenting Foundations Course, bringing our second cohort for 2026 to a close.
This final session focused on Communication and Emotional Security, where families explored how children understand far more than words alone. Through tone, timing, presence, consistency, and clear communication, parents discovered how everyday interactions quietly shape trust, cooperation, emotional regulation, and a child’s sense of safety in the world.
Many parents shared how small shifts in language and response helped them see communication differently. Rather than relying on repeated corrections, vague instructions, or constant talking, we explored how calm, precise, and respectful communication often leads to greater understanding and connection, even before a child becomes fully verbal.
Over the past four sessions, families journeyed through observation, caregiving, play, movement, communication, and emotional development together with their children. What began as questions about parenting often became something deeper: a different way of seeing children, relationships, and everyday moments at home.
At Greentree, we believe the early years are about preparing a child for life. They are about building the emotional foundations, trust, confidence, and relationships that shape everything that follows.
We are deeply grateful to all the families who joined us for this cohort and allowed us to be part of their parenting journey.
Our next cohort will begin in August 2026. Dates will be released on our website and social media pages soon. Interested to join us? Register your interest at www.greentreemontessori.com/parenting-foundations-course

This month, our children stepped into the Evolution Garden at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, where traces of Earth’s ancient past quietly surrounded them.
As they explored the gardens, they encountered massive petrified tree fossils, trees that had once lived long before turning slowly to stone over thousands of years. The children ran their hands across the textures, studied the patterns closely, and began to realise that what looked like ordinary rock had once been living.
Along the way, they walked among towering ferns, ancient plant life, and landscapes that reflected different stages of Earth’s history. What made the experience so meaningful was not simply seeing these environments, but experiencing the immense scale of time, change, and the natural world around them.
Nearby, our infants explored the morning in their own way, moving freely across the open lawn, feeling the grass beneath them, watching the trees sway in the wind, and taking in the environment through movement and sensory discovery.
At Greentree, we believe some of the most meaningful learning begins with wonder. Moments where children are given the space to observe, question, and slowly piece together their understanding of the world around them.

Over the past few weeks, our children have been building their very own Term 1 Starlight Collection 2026: The Breathing Tree & The Tiny World of Insects booklet, carefully documenting the insects they discovered through their everyday explorations.
At Greentree Montessori, projects like these are a natural part of how children learn. Rather than being given ready-made answers, our children are encouraged to observe closely, ask questions, notice patterns, and gradually build their own understanding of the world around them.
As they encountered different insects in gardens, parks, and outdoor spaces, they took the time to study their features, movements, and details before recording their observations into their handmade books. Page by page, their collections slowly grew into something deeply personal, a portfolio of their discoveries, research, observations, and curiosity.
What makes these projects meaningful is that the learning belongs to the child. Every drawing reflects something they genuinely noticed, explored, and wanted to understand for themselves.
Through experiences like these, children begin to see that learning is not confined to worksheets or classrooms. The world itself becomes something worth observing, questioning, and discovering.
