Why do we make our own Eco Drums? 🥁🌱

In our work with persons with disabilities, we discovered that traditional taiko drums can sometimes be too loud for some participants. They’re also heavy and difficult to transport to various community centres — many of which are located under HDB void decks.

Our Eco Drums solve these challenges. They’re lightweight, easy to carry, and produce sound that’s over 50% softer than traditional taiko drums — making them more inclusive and accessible for everyone to enjoy the rhythm together. ❤️

Taiko drumming is more than music — it’s movement, expression, and community.

For persons with disabilities, Taiko offers a powerful way to connect body, mind, and heart:

💪 Physical Engagement – The strong, rhythmic movements help improve coordination, balance, and motor skills in a fun, energising way.

🧠 Sensory Connection – The deep vibrations of the drum help participants feel the rhythm, even if hearing or mobility is limited.

💬 Emotional Expression – Each beat becomes a voice — a way to release energy, joy, or emotion without needing words.

❤️ Social Inclusion – Everyone plays together. There’s no right or wrong — only rhythm shared as one community.

🥁✨Taiko with Purpose: Lowering Barriers, Raising Hearts

Hi friends JY here! We often get asked —

“Why do you simplify the drumming routines?”

The answer is simple: we lower the barriers not because we can’t play better — but because we want everyone to play. ❤️

Taiko is more than rhythm and technique. It’s about connection, inclusion, and the shared heartbeat that unites people from all walks of life.

When a child with autism smiles after hitting the drum for the first time, or when a senior with limited mobility finds their rhythm, that’s when Taiko becomes more than performance. It becomes purpose.

Let’s keep making space for everybody to feel the beat. 🥁
