Dangerous goods training for shore-based personnel has been mandatory since 1 January 2010. This is a compliance requirement for staff who are not trained or certified as they may only operate under direct supervision. Thus, it is not an optional upskilling.

The Certificate in Applying IMDG Code covers dangerous goods classification, proper shipping names, packing and UN marking, labelling and placarding, stowage and segregation, and dangerous goods transport documentation.

MCF Training Grant covers up to 50% of course fees for eligible participants. The IMDG Code is renewed every two years.

Upcoming intakes: 21 to 23 July 2026, and 21 to 23 September 2026. Register now: https://tla.edu.sg/course/certificate-applying-imdg-code/
