AI experts can build the model. But they can't tell you what a treasury workflow actually looks like at 4pm on settlement day.
That's why I'm excited to announce the partnership between Kingston International College, Verixiom (Practical Cyber), and CFOi β to build a progressive AI and cybersecurity curriculum designed specifically for finance professionals, from those taking their first steps with AI to senior leaders setting strategy.
Making AI work in a real role doesn't just take AI expertise. It takes domain expertise. The people who understand the regulations, the edge cases, the risks, and the way work actually gets done β they're the ones who turn AI from a demo into a dependable colleague.
So instead of teaching finance professionals to become AI engineers, this programme does something more practical: it equips domain experts to apply AI safely and effectively in their own field, with cybersecurity awareness built in from day one.
AI experts build the tools. Domain experts make them work.
"In finance, controls arenβt the brake on AI. Theyβre what makes it deployable. This programme teaches capability and governance together.β β Shi Mei Chin, CEO, CFOi
"AI and cybersecurity are usually taught as separate disciplines, but in finance they're two sides of the same coin." β Ethan Seow, Co-founder, Verixiom
"Every party is here because we believe in what we are building together." β Joshua Chong, COO, Kingston International College
And we're not stopping here β hot on the heels of this partnership, an upcoming announcement with M-DAQ Global will take the upskilling journey for finance professionals even further. Details soon. Watch this space.
This is what workforce transformation should look like: not replacing expertise, but amplifying it.
