📚 Today’s story: “The Answer Is in the Books” (《答案就在书本里》)

Have you ever wondered how some people seem to know so many wonderful stories? ✨

In this heartwarming story, a little girl visits the library every weekend to listen to Auntie Lin tell stories. With books, props and expressive actions, Auntie Lin brings each story to life — making the children laugh when the characters are happy and feel sad when things don’t go their way.

One day, the little girl becomes curious and asks Auntie Lin how she knows so many stories. Auntie Lin smiles, points to the bookshelf and gives her a simple answer: “The answer is in the books!” 📖

It’s a lovely way to encourage children to develop a love for reading while learning useful Chinese vocabulary through a warm and relatable story.

✍️ Stay till the end for our Character Corner, where we’ll practise the correct stroke order for:

• 讲 (jiǎng) — to tell / speak
• 故 (gù) — story / past
• 书 (shū) — book
• 知 (zhī) — to know
• 指 (zhǐ) — to point

At LingoAce, our syllabus-aligned lessons help children build stronger Chinese language skills through engaging stories, everyday experiences and meaningful learning moments.

📚 Still doing endless PSLE Chinese practice papers without seeing results?

More practice doesn’t always mean better scores. The key is knowing how to answer.

At LingoAce, we focus on 3 steps:

✅ Understand the question types
Know what each PSLE component is testing.

✅ Build a clear answering method
For comprehension: identify → locate → infer → answer.

✅ Connect key skills
Vocabulary, reading and writing work together — not separately.

Instead of doing 100 more questions, help your child master the right answering method first. 🎯

🏜️ Ever wondered why deserts exist?

Deserts aren’t just endless stretches of sand — they form because of a fascinating combination of climate and geography!

Most deserts receive very little rainfall. Mountains can block rain clouds, hot temperatures can cause water to evaporate quickly, and strong winds help shape the dry landscape over time.

Human activities such as deforestation and overgrazing can also contribute to desertification, turning once-productive land into much drier environments.

And not all deserts are hot! From the scorching Sahara to the cold, windswept Gobi, deserts show us just how diverse and powerful nature can be. 🌍✨

Good grades in Chinese… but still speaking English the moment class ends? 🤔

Learning Chinese for school and being confident enough to use it in everyday life are two different things.

📚 Knowing the vocabulary ≠ knowing how to use it
✍️ Writing for exams ≠ expressing ideas confidently
💬 Understanding Chinese ≠ feeling comfortable speaking it

Chinese shouldn’t just be something children study — it should be a language they can actually use.

At LingoAce, our MOE-aligned K1–P6 programmes combine contextual learning, conversations, reading and writing to help children build confidence both inside and outside the classroom. ✨

😴 Have you ever wondered why people snore when they sleep?

The secret is in the airway!

When we fall asleep, the muscles around the tongue, soft palate and throat relax. This can make the airway narrower.

As air moves through this smaller space, the soft tissues in the throat begin to vibrate, creating that familiar “snore, snore” sound. 💤

Things like a blocked nose, sleeping on your back, or being very tired can make the airway even narrower and sometimes make snoring louder.

Most snoring is harmless, but if someone snores very loudly and appears to stop breathing during sleep, it’s important to let an adult know and speak to a doctor.

Even a simple bedtime sound can teach children something fascinating about breathing, the human body, and the science happening inside us every day! ✨

Share this fun fact with your child and keep exploring the wonders of science together.

Through this story, children learn about family love, responsibility, and how simple acts of kindness can make someone’s special day even more meaningful.

✍️ Stay till the end for our Character Corner, where we’ll practise the correct stroke order for:

Does Chinese suddenly feel much harder in Primary 3? 😰📚

It’s a big transition — children move from recognising words to understanding passages, expressing ideas and tackling more challenging comprehension and composition.

Instead of simply adding more worksheets, try these 3 ways to build confidence at home:

🗣️ Chat in Chinese for 10–20 minutes a day
📖 Take turns reading and predicting what happens next
✏️ Let them say their ideas before writing them down

Small, consistent habits can make Chinese feel much more natural. ✨

At LingoAce, our MOE-aligned Primary 3 programme helps children progress step by step from vocabulary → sentences → reading → writing.

🦀 Ever wondered why crabs turn bright red when they’re cooked?

It might look like magic, but it’s actually science! 🔬

Crabs naturally contain a red pigment called astaxanthin. When they’re alive, this pigment is bound to proteins in their shells, which can make them appear greenish or bluish.

Once the crab is cooked, heat changes the structure of those proteins and releases the pigment — revealing that familiar bright red colour. ❤️

But what about the crab’s belly? You may notice that it often stays white even after cooking. That’s because this part contains much less of the red pigment, so there’s little colour change.

Everyday moments can be full of fascinating science! ✨ Share this fun fact with your child and spark their curiosity about the world around them.

Is your child struggling with PSLE Chinese composition — even after memorising 好词好句? 📝

The challenge may not simply be a lack of vocabulary. Sometimes, children have plenty of ideas and words in mind, but struggle to organise them into a clear and engaging composition.

That’s why at LingoAce, we teach children to build the structure first, before filling it with vocabulary, descriptions and details.

One simple technique is the 🍔 “Hamburger Writing Method”:

🍞 Top bun — Introduction
Set the scene by introducing the time, place, characters and event.

🥩 Filling — Main Body
Develop the key events with more detail and description, while using transition words to connect ideas smoothly.

🍞 Bottom bun — Conclusion
Wrap up the composition with a reflection, feeling or lesson learnt.

When children understand how a composition is structured, they have a clearer idea of what to write — and where their vocabulary and 好词好句 can be used effectively. ✍️

At LingoAce, our structured approach combines contextual vocabulary learning, MOE-aligned learning and guided writing techniques to help children build stronger foundations in both reading and writing.
