2026-04-20, 22 & 23 Learning Journey Eco Tour – ME @ Singapore Sustainable Gallery

The Learning Journey Eco Tour – ME @ Singapore Sustainable Gallery was conducted on 20, 22 and 23 April 2026 at the Singapore Sustainability Gallery, offered students a meaningful and engaging exposure to Singapore’s sustainability efforts and green initiatives. Throughout the visit, students interacted with a variety of exhibits that illustrated key areas such as water management, renewable energy, waste minimisation, and urban planning.

The experience highlighted Singapore’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable living, prompting students to consider adopting environmentally responsible habits in their daily routines. It also encouraged teamwork and collaboration, as students participated in shared activities that strengthened communication and peer bonding.

Additionally, the learning journey bridged classroom concepts with real-world applications, enabling students to better appreciate the relevance of their coursework. Overall, it was a rewarding and memorable experience that reinforced learning through interactive and immersive engagement.

We would like to thank our Managers and Assistant Director of Mechanical Engineering Department for their full support.

The RoboMaster – Drone Shootout Competition was successfully held on 21 April 2026 at the Mechanical Skills Hub, bringing together our Year 1 ME students for an exciting and engaging robotics experience.

During the competition, students worked in teams to operate and program the DJI RoboMaster, applying their knowledge and skills to complete the shootout challenges. It was heartening to see students actively collaborating, problem-solving, and demonstrating resilience throughout the competition.

Beyond the excitement, the event provided a valuable platform for students to learn basic programming concepts, teamwork in a fun and hands-on environment. The energy and enthusiasm shown by the students truly made the event a meaningful and memorable one.

The results are currently being tabulated, and the prize presentation will be held on Thursday, 23 April 2026 at 9:00am in the ME Staff Meeting Room.

A special thank you to Raymond (Deputy Director), Wenbin (Assistant Director), Jumali and Hanxiong (Managers), and all our ME Class Advisors for your strong support.

As part of the lead-up to the upcoming RoboMaster – Drone Shootout Competition, we conducted a RoboMaster Pre-Engagement Session for the Year 1 ME students at the Student Activity Centre.

During the session, students were introduced to the DJI RoboMaster platform, where they learned about the competition concept, watched a live demonstration, and had the opportunity to get hands-on experience controlling the RoboMaster robots. The session aimed to spark students’ interest in robotics, teamwork, and real-world engineering applications, while allowing them to practice before the upcoming competition.

It was encouraging to see the students actively participating and enjoying the hands-on experience.

A special thank you to our AD, Managers, and CAs for your continued support in making this session possible.

Stay tuned for the upcoming RoboMaster – Drone Shootout Competition on 21st April 2026 @ Mechanical Skills Hub.

Four students from the School of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Department, participated in a design-and-build competition organised by the Singapore Timber Association. The competition challenged students to design and fabricate a play table inspired by SG60, highlighting creativity, functionality, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

The team competed against students from various polytechnics and NAFA design programmes. Through their innovative design approach and strong hands-on fabrication skills, the students demonstrated engineering competence, teamwork, and design excellence. Their efforts were recognised with a Merit Award, which was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Mr Gan Kim Yong, marking a significant achievement for the students at the national-level competition.

We would like to thank our course Managers, Jumali and Hanxiong, our Assistant Director, Wenbin, for their strong support and encouragement for this project.
