A great post from fellow educator Eric Ferguson on creating input lists (what plugs into which channel) and stage plots (what goes where on stage). These are industry-standard documents that every sound engineer needs to know how to prepare, distribute, read and interpret. I strongly recommend reading this article from start to finish, you will learn many valuable lessons, not just about show admin, but about the mindset of being an organised and well-prepared professional.

This is first article I have shared by Ciaran de Chaud who, besides having a unique name, also offers good advice to those moving from live sound into the recording studio, or between the two spaces. Happy New Year everyone! To start off 2024 here's an exceptionally interesting article, originally published nearly fifty years ago, about an event that took place in April 1974. With an attendance of over two hundred thousand fans, PA coverage was needed to a distance of over a thousand feet (three hundred meters). The system assembled for the job had 54,000 watts RMS and delivered 105dB SPL ONE MILE from the speaker stacks. Truly pioneering work, long before line arrays or Synergy Horns. Half a century later, this is still an awesome rig 😎
