🍾 Pop the champagne! PhD student Qiu Yixian successfully defended her thesis "Exponential Tilting in Quantum Computing: Foundations and Applications"! 💐Congratulations! 👏

Her PhD research focuses on learning guarantees for tunable objective functions in quantum frameworks, as well as reshaping optimization landscapes in variational quantum algorithms through tunable objectives and their practical implementation. Yixian was supervised by Patrick Rebentrost.

CQT’s Tan Peng Kian receives Singapore National Award - CQT - Centre for Quantum Technologies 14/08/2026

When he first arrived at CQT, Peng Kian Tan was an undergraduate with an enthusiasm for astronomy. He had an idea to use quantum techniques to observe the stars✨️ Now a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre, his commendable performance has been recognised with a Singapore National Award 🎖️

Congratulations PK!
