Happy Easter everyone!

It is hard to believe it is April already!

Our young learners will begin the month by exploring the work of Ted Harrison. Born in County Durham, England in 1926, Harrison immigrated to Canada and was captivated by the landscapes and scenes of everyday life in the Yukon, which he depicted in his art using bright colours.

Over the next two weeks, our young learners will paint their very own Harrison-inspired landscapes. We cannot wait to share their completed paintings with you!

We would like to congratulate our DSA student Aarika on winning first prize in the Singapore Council of Women's Organisation's AWESOME Art Competition.

Participants had to create an artwork inspired by their favourite woman in the Singapore Women's Hall of Fame emphasising their importance, achievements, and contributions to the country.

As an athlete herself, Aarika chose Kandasamy Jayamani, a middle and long distance runner who became Singapore's only female gold medalist in the SEA Games marathon when she won the event in 1983. Her artwork, titled "A Glance at Glory," captures the moment in a unique way!

Well done Aarika! We are all so proud of your achievement!

We were happy to have four young artists in the studio for our March Holiday Program!

The girls brought a little bit of spring magic into the studio with their beautiful clay flowers! We hope that they enjoyed the session and will join us for our next holiday program in June!

Are you a cat person or a dog person? Our young learners painted these furry friends in the style of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami!

We would like to congratulate our student Adela on making it into the top 3 in her school's art competition! It has been wonderful watching her talent grow and we are all so happy for her!

ART CLASSES FOR KIDS

👨‍🎨 Discover the vibrant world of art with our classes for kids! We offer drawing, painting and craft lessons for beginners and experienced young artists alike. With small class sizes and a modern open-plan studio, we offer an enriching experience for young artists.

✨YOUNG LEARNER (ages 4-6): Our patient and skilled instructors guide young learners through structured lessons and open projects, nurturing their creativity while exploring famous artists and different art styles and media.

✨PRETEENS AND TEENS (ages 6-16): These classes focus on building a strong artistic foundation. Students develop fundamental techniques, experiment with various media, explore color theory, and build their observation skills.

✨CHIBI (ages 10-14): This program aims to equip students with the skills needed to design their own Chibi characters. Students will learn about perspective, human proportions for all ages, how to capture emotions and more.

With the arrival of March, we're excited to announce our next Artist of the Month!
Born in Tokyo in 1962, Takashi Murakami is a prominent figure in contemporary Japanese art whose work spans across sculpture, painting, fashion, and animation. He is also known for founding "superflat," a postmodern art movement inspired by anime and manga.

Our budding artists will kick off the month by creating their own paintings in Murakami's style. Be sure to check our social media pages later this month to see their marvelous creations!
