The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Class of 2026 has been forged through fire.
Bring It On: The Musical connects the dedication, focus and teamwork required from the athleticism of cheerleading to the discipline of musical theatre—every vocal line, every razor-sharp formation, every repeated choreography run—and showcases the graduating cohort as the formidable theatre triple threats they are.
“Cheer for the lifts. Celebrate the harmonies. But also know that what you’re witnessing is the result of a true team effort built on trust, dedication and community,” says Programme Leader Dayal Singh.
Of their collaboration with the Diploma in Theatre Production and Management, he adds, “A lighting cue must land at exactly the right second. A sound transition must flow seamlessly. A set piece must move safely and swiftly in the dark. While you may not always see them, cast and crew together learn that success is shared and excellence is collective.”
As our graduating students prepare to step into the professional world, they carry with them resilience, discipline, collaboration and courage—qualities that will serve them in any path they choose.”
Congratulations to the all-stars! Meet the peeps at our digital showcase via thelasalleshow.com.

The graduands of the BA (Hons) Acting programme, with director Samantha Scott-Blackhall, presented a play about a play about a play—bringing an originally 14th-century drama back into contemporary focus by setting the scene on an unnamed island in 2045.
Swerving adeptly between roles as the enforcer and the entrapped, the Class of 2026 presented a gripping performance of the unifying human condition, showcasing their nuance and maturity as actors ready to enter the world stage.
“Live theatre is a powerful way to experience these stories about our responsibilities to ourselves and others. In a world that is divided and confusing, these stories become an important vehicle for self-reflection. They present a moral framework based upon kindness and compassion,” says Programme Leader Matt Grey.
“To the students, it is a privilege to know and work with you. I look forward to seeing you flourish and take your places in the world. Make it a better place—it needs you.”
Graduands, continue to tell great stories that resonate across people and place with your unique voices. We’ll see your names in lights very soon!

For their graduation showcase, the Class of 2026 from the Diploma in Performance presented ‘The Line’, written specially for them by Myle Yan Tay. A story that begins at preparing for graduation and ends at learning to face the world, it mirrors much of their current life experiences.
The 13-strong cast smashed through the fourth wall running with a narrative that questions what it means to be an artist and a student in a society that is a little scared of both.
These young performers have trained hard at not just acting, but also devising, singing and dancing, and more across the spectrum of performing arts. Having bonded over strife and success, they are now to be released into the world to make their indelible mark.
Programme Leader Pavan J Singh reflects, “I am proud to have contributed to the development of these young artists, and even more proud to see them flourish professionally.
This cohort now takes the next step of their journey as developed performance artists who will have a deep sense of empathy and curiosity for the human experience, with the knowledge and skillset to always create works that are relevant, relatable and truthful.”

LASALLE’s Diploma in Dance graduands, supported by their Year 2 juniors, stunned on stage early this May.
This was also the first that experimented with introducing multimedial assets—projections of the students’ dance research films, played in the interim between performances, which revealed each graduands’ depth and individuality.
Dances ‘Solitude’ (Simona Cieri, Motus Danza), ‘Blips’ (Christina Chan), ‘Alchemic Empathy’ (Jang He Jin) and ‘I Just Stand There’ (ScRach MarcS) encapsulate the anxiety and tension, but also the unity and courage, of a class stepping out into Unknown Futures.
“The good thing about being a performer and improviser is that you learn to lean into the uncertainties because they can create something beautiful. This graduating cohort has started to figure out who they are, where they stand and what they can contribute.
“As they step into the unknown future, they do so not with trepidation, but with courage, curiosity and the conviction to shape what comes next,” says Programme Leader Melissa Quek.
