”The future belongs to us,” says 2026 McNally Award for Excellence in the Arts recipient Mitchell Hoo Min Cher, whose speech empowers the Class of 2026 to hold on to our sparks and thrive.

It is graduates like you, after all—creatives with the capacity to construct alternative futures, discover the devil in the details, and know that reinvention is metamorphosis, not destruction, all while maintaining a focus on compassion, community and inclusivity—who will transform the world for the better. ✊

Once more, to the Class of 2026, !

For honouring your indomitable human spirit, for staying curious and caring, for embracing yourself and your communities, our 2026 Creative Future Impact Award recipient Heema Izzati wants you to know… You’re doing great! 🫂

As we send off our Diploma graduates into the world—to pursue careers, higher education, or even welcome them back into the fold—we hope you are able to keep Heema’s reassurance in mind, that “Creativity can't be rushed, and there is no prize for arriving first if you lose your voice along the way.”

Strength and courage to all, and once again, a happy graduation. 🎓
