A look inside our new composition book, created exclusively for our P5 and P6 students.
Each story is more than a model composition. It is a lesson in how writing works: how tension is shaped, how character is revealed, how a single gesture can carry the meaning of an entire scene.
Students read, annotate, infer and write — moving naturally from close reading to sharper composition.
Rooted in the Singapore syllabus. Designed with a contemporary understanding of how young writers learn.
The result is a workbook with unusual depth: intuitive to use, exacting in its standards and quietly ambitious in what it asks students to notice.
For students ready to write beyond the obvious.

Most children can be taught to write a complete composition. Fewer are taught how to make a story worth reading.
That is the difference this book is interested in.
The Academic Guide to Insightful Compositions teaches students how to move beyond event-driven writing and into writing with intention: where objects carry meaning, settings create mood, small actions reveal character and endings feel earned rather than simply completed.
Each story is paired with annotations, comprehension questions and writing insights that show students not just what happens in a passage, but how the writing works.
Because strong composition is not about decorating a story with impressive phrases.
It is about learning to notice more, choose better and write with greater depth.
For PSLE students who are ready to go beyond the obvious.

Most students prepare for Orals by collecting answers.
But Orals was never meant to reward memorisation.
It is designed to assess how a student thinks, organises, and communicates.
Because beyond the exam, these are life skills:
🗣️ speaking with clarity
🧱 structuring ideas under pressure
⏳ responding thoughtfully in real time
At Academia, we still take the exam seriously.
But we prepare students for more than just the paper.
We train three things together:
1️⃣ Content — ideas worth expressing
2️⃣ Structure — clear, logical responses
3️⃣ Skills — calm, confident delivery
So students don’t just perform better in Orals.
They learn how to express themselves with precision — in school and beyond.
