🎉 Earlier this week on 16 September, NUS Enterprise achieved a milestone through the official opening of the i³ building, graced by Guest of Honour DPM Gan Kim Yong, Minister of Trade and Industry.
 
For NUS MSVC(tag our page), it was a great opportunity to reconnect with our internship collaborators: Ali Jumabhoy from utu Global, Boyang Xue from Creta Class, Emily Xu from XNode, and Jocelyn Goh from Zenxin Organics - as well as alumni and friends across Singapore’s vibrant startup ecosystem.
 
We are especially proud to see our alumni turn bold scientific ideas into impactful ventures, through their startups featured at the NUS Innovation Showcase that was part of the day’s agenda:

✨ M.I. Cloud: Co-founded by Zaid Khan (Pakistan) and Paige Yang (Singapore) from Class of 2022, M.I. Cloud showcased their patented technology that naturally reduces snoring and improves sleep quality.
✨ FitoBite: Co-founded by Christentia Steffany (Indonesia) from Class of 2025, FitoBite introduces a plant-based protein shot from mung beans to meet daily nutritional needs. It is also a participant in the National GRIP programme, that aims to transform cutting-edge research into market-ready deep tech startups.

Last Saturday, our team participated in the HeadHunt Postgraduate Masterclass Fair! It was a pleasure to meet potential applicants from Singapore and friends from around the world while sharing insights about NUS MSVC.

🌟 MSVC Inner Circle: Where’s The Funding!? 🚀

Organised by students, for students, last week’s event provided fresh insights on startup funding by guest speakers: Koh Eu Beng, John Tay, and Hussein Sulaiman. Attendees also built various, valuable connections with speakers, peers, alumni, and their programme managers. 💡✨

The NUS MSVC team visited Indonesia on 23-27 Sep, meeting Indonesian partners including local universities and LPDP. Activities included info sessions and meetings to explore further collaborations over the next three years. Thank you to the following parties for warmly hosting us:

A colleague, who is well liked for her humour, tried her first stint at moderating a serious conversation today. And she (and we) discovered a newfound talent. Our pool of panel moderators has just increased by one.

This and a lot more was discussed in an engaging conversation with our distinguished panelists this afternoon. Moderated by our current student Angelia Teo, the speakers shared their insights and unique experiences in the context of sustainability. 🪴

As Tatiana shed light on why sustainability should matter to businesses, while Prof. Edward spoke about how VCs are looking at the sustainability of businesses. ✨

Samuel emphasised the importance of just starting on the sustainability journey, and Natalie shared how the entire business has to be sustainable, from operations to employee well-being. 🌻
