Tombalek is home to Singapore’s only glass melting furnace, with a hot shop dedicated to the art of glassblowing and glassmaking.

This September, Tombalek is inviting you to get hands-on with glass sculpture in a beginner-friendly class led by one of Singapore’s leading glass artists, Karen Tan.

This introductory class will take you through the basics of flame working on the bench, with everything taught from scratch. No experience needed!

Blacksmithing Foundations begins 10 October! If you’ve always wanted to learn blacksmithing beyond making chef’s knives, this is the class for you!

For 4 Saturdays, Forge Master Nigel would bring you through the basics of how to work HOT steel at the anvil, making simple tools and sculptural pieces. You also get 4 forge sessions complimentary to work on your own project with our guidance.

Most importantly, we will be covering power hammer safety also which will allow you to move much faster!

We’ve been teaching Tsuiki Copper Raising for a while now but never really got around to filming a class properly. Mason, Jonah and Sarah came by last weekend and we finally got the chance!

Tsuiki is a process that requires patience and really slowing down to observe the movement of the metal. A cup is raised from a flat copper disc through repeated hammering, thus giving it a distinct faceted surface.

I still remember taking my first class with Sensei many years ago and seeing the techniques honed over many decades. We invite you to join us to experience this beautiful tradition.

We’re stoked to finally bring you Blacksmithing Foundations, a masterclass with crowd favourite Nigel Koh !This is a class for any passionate learner of blacksmithing – the art of working hot steel at the anvil. We will cover both functional and sculptural elements of blacksmithing, starting with the absolutely basics.

This class is a once a week class stretching 4 weeks, with 1 lesson a week and 1 free practice session.

Glass Sculpting On The Torch was a whole lot of fun last weekend! We’re so stoked about the energy each student brought to the class.

Next run would be on September 12/13, coinciding with our first Glass Gathering we’d be announcing soon!!

Glass Sculpting On the Torch starts next weekend and KTKM gave us a teaser of what to expect from the class. These miniature cartoon sculptures are a perfect starting point for beginners - we know them so well and it’s rewarding with just a little basic technique.

We have one last slot left for next weekend’s class on the 15-16 August so if you’re on the fence do join us soon!

New Colours arrived from !! So stoked to bring you guys DOUBLE the color selection this time round. We also brought in tiny grain sizes for most of the colour selection so you can apply them in fine coats.
