Singapore’s National Language is Malay? 🤔

Did you know that out of Singapore’s four official languages (English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil), Malay is designated as the national language?

It’s all about honouring history and culture! 🗺️

Here's the quick scoop:

Ancient Ties: Malay is deeply rooted in Singapore and the wider region, pre-dating colonial times.

A Promise to Our Roots: At independence in 1965, choosing Malay as the national language was a formal recognition of this history and a nod to our regional context.

The National Anthem: It's written and sung in Malay – "Majulah Singapura"! 🎶

Meanwhile, English became the main working language to facilitate business and connect our multicultural population.

❤️One country, four official languages, one national language. ❤️

🎆 THE SCIENCE BEHIND FIREWORKS

Ever wondered how fireworks create those amazing colours AND shapes? ✨

🧪 CHEMISTRY
Chemical reactions release heat and light. Different metal compounds create different colours — red, green, blue and gold! 🌈

⚙️ PHYSICS
Hot, expanding gases create pressure and force, launching fireworks into the sky and sending glowing particles bursting outward.

⭐ BUT HOW DO THE SHAPES FORM?
It’s all in the design! The tiny glowing pellets, called "stars", are carefully arranged inside the firework shell. Their arrangement determines the shape we see when the firework explodes — from rings and hearts to stars and other patterns.

🔊 And that spectacular BOOM? Rapidly expanding gases create pressure waves that travel through the air as sound.

✨ ONE FIREWORK. TWO SCIENCES. ENDLESS WONDER.✨

For some students, the signs appear gradually — concepts become harder to follow, confidence starts to dip, and Math becomes a subject they would rather avoid.

By the time the gaps become obvious, catching up can feel like a much bigger challenge.

Talia’s journey shows what can happen when the right support comes in early. Within a year of joining Good School, she improved by 3 grades in O-Level E-Math — not just in results, but in her confidence and ability to tackle questions independently.

For AY2027, don’t wait for your child to fall behind before taking action.

Give them the time, guidance and support to build strong foundations before the gaps grow.

At Good School Learning Hub, we focus on helping students understand concepts clearly, apply what they learn and build the confidence to keep progressing.

🎯 Start early. Build steadily. Give your child the support they need to succeed.

A Little Red Dot. A Big Singapore Story.

On the map, Singapore may look like just a tiny red dot.

But look beyond the map, and you’ll see a country that has built a name far bigger than its size — through resilience, ambition, innovation and the determination to keep moving forward.

The term “Little Red Dot” gained prominence in 1998. Today, it has become something Singaporeans proudly embrace: a reminder that being small does not mean thinking small.

As we celebrate National Day, let’s remember the generations who helped build this little red dot into the Singapore we know today — and the generations who will carry it forward. ❤️🤍

At Good School Learning Hub, we believe the same spirit applies to learning too: start small, keep learning, and give every effort the chance to grow into something bigger. If you would like to find out more about our classes, contacts us now.

What an incredible journey from a C to an A for GP for Clifton!

What made the difference? Building stronger answering techniques, learning to approach comprehension with greater structure, and having enough time to practise and refine those skills.

Clifton’s story is a great reminder that improvement takes time — and language skills need a longer runway. The earlier students build their foundations, the more time they have to develop confidence, sharpen their techniques and turn progress into results.

If your child is aiming for stronger results in English or GP, don’t wait until the exams are around the corner. Start early. Give them the runway to grow.
