A interest dance group that revolves around a bunch of vibrant and very active students gathering together to dance !! Founded initially for NYP's 2007 Musical, a project group was formed to teach a group of NYP students, mostly with dancing backgrounds from other different CCA clubs, for one of the musical items back then. It soon was called 'Jazz Club'. But soon after the musical, the same group
of dedicated students were very much bonded and really enjoyed how this club has been pioneered by them, thus officially forming the club in May 2007. It soon took on a more different genre of dance, Ballroom Dancing. This club underwent a new change and was thus renamed to 'La Ballroom En Masse' . Under the guidance of experienced seniors, the club remained a strong CCA with very dedicated members. Even going through the efforts to improve their dances externally and going for competitions. Soon, La Ballroom En Masse underwent new changes, trying different and new genres, finally venturing into Social Dancing. Which then, La Ballroom En Masse had a new instructor, Mr Gupson Pierre, Artistic Director for Attitude Dance Studio. Mr Gupson Pierre, nicknamed "Father Of Salsa", revolutionized Salsa Dancing in the Asia and is highly renown, especially in the dance scene in Singapore and other parts of Asia. Mr Gupson Pierre now teaches La Ballroom En Masse the art of social dancing, dances such as Salsa, Pachanga , Street Cha Cha, and many more different sorts of Social Dances. A dance sport that offers twice-a-week 20-30mins body warmers that will help flexibility. And sometimes we even introduce Cardiovascular Exercises into our weekly activities, to let members keep fit and be able to keep a strong core, which is essential to any dancers. As a dancer, especially social dancing, in which partner work is essential, you will be a vast more versatile in movement, conveying feelings through actions and even having a better communication with the opposite s*x. There will be partnering work so it's one of the best chances to impress the ladies (for the guys of course). And learn how to do it too well. Cos the ladies love men who can lead a lady and dances well too! Practices Timing:
Tuesday : 6pm-9pm
Thursday: 6pm-9pm
The 3-4 hours ranges from different activities like : Body Warmers, Cardio Training, Training Splits, Shanay Turns and finally learning the dance itself, either by the club's dance captains, who are the seniors of this club, or instructors. Friendly alumni's are a bonus too, coming back every once in a while to give moral support to their old beloved club! Dancers are never shy, so don't be shy and be a part of us! Dancing newbies are encouraged too !! Seriously!! Websites:
