Yay! 😁 Received some delightful news from my P4 students and parents last week when they received their latest papers back.

Congratulations on your improvement, kiddos! 🥳

These students were scoring 60s-70s before coming to Sg Math Tutor, which means their foundation is there and they know basic concepts, but they struggle with confusing word problems.

So what I did was I worked on their problem solving techniques and trained them on heuristics! 🎯

After a few months of strategic coaching, they started scoring high 80s. 👏🏼

Next step for them now is to master non-routine “math olympiad” style questions, so that they can start scoring 90s! 💪🏽

Does your child struggle with word problems too?

If yes, try working on their heuristic concepts, it will do wonders (if done right).

There are many heuristic books in the bookstores (but I prefer using my own materials especially for P4-P6 students).

Let’s give our heartiest congratulations to Sharvani (P5) for literally LEAPING grades from a score of 43 in SA1 to 78 in SA2! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

She also clinched the Good Progress Award (rightfully so), so it’s a double win! 🏆

Now, let me tell you this.

If you think it’s easy, it’s not.

If you think it’s a “get good grades quick” scheme, you’re very wrong.

Real progress takes time and effort, LASER focus and DETERMINATION. 💪🏽

Sharvani worked hard to get to where she is today, and it was no easy feat.

She listened, she learned and she practised..

And she still made mistakes.

Then she listened, she learned and she practised again..

And she did this over and over and over again.

Until she finally did so well, she even surprised herself! Let alone her parents/teachers!

Lesson to be learnt from this is:

It’s never over till you say it is over.

So DON’T EVER give up. 💪🏽
