Today, we celebrate the spirit of freedom, resilience, and unity that defines Vietnam. From all of us at GUILD, we send our warmest greetings to our friends and partners in Vietnam on this special day 2/9.

Vietnam has a special place in our founder's heart ❤️ It is where he did his very first overseas Community Involvement Project (CIP) as part of Destination Danang, a youth-led initiative he was involved in as an undergraduate at National University of Singapore. Back then, he spent time in the rice fields, painting classrooms in the rural areas, building computer labs and portable libraries in the village schools in 2007.

18 years later, Vietnam is now a tech powerhouse, a robust economy and a self-sufficient nation in terms of food security. Now, he spreads his message of Impact Entrepreneurship and Post-Growth Futures while nurturing relationships with innovators, makers and builders across RMIT University Vietnam, Eastern International University and Fulbright University Vietnam.

Indeed, the bond between Singapore and Vietnam is one of trust, friendship, and shared growth. We look forward to strengthening this connection, building bridges together, and creating brighter opportunities for our communities 🇸🇬🇻🇳

It’s official! Vietnam is going tri-city mode for NASA Space Apps Challenge 2025! From Ho Chi Minh City, the spark has spread. Now, Hanoi and Da Nang join the constellation.

🌐 3 cities. 1 united mission. Together, we’re turning open space-based data into real-world impact, across Vietnam. As Vietnam’s leading innovation hubs, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang are now linked in a shared orbit of science, creativity, and collaboration.

Space Apps Challenge

🇻🇳 𝑭𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑽𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒔

We had the honour to bring our partners from Eastern International University based in Bình Dương around the Kampung Kampus, the home of Ground-Up Initiative (GUI), as part of their overseas industry exposure programme on the future of sustainability and engineering science.

We pointed out that one of the key features associated with the farms here is the non-use of chemical pesticides and fertilisers. Ecology-based solutions are applied such as nurturing an ecosystem of natural predators to pests there. This is important because synthetic chemicals introduced onto your fruits, vegetables and soils could enter your gut and body when you consume them later, affecting your health and wellbeing.

During his college years at National University of Singapore, our founder Ibnur researched the impact of dioxin, 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) and Agent Orange used during the Vietnam War on human health. Since then, he has been a peace advocate on the ethical use of science 🕊️

Food safety is everyone’s business. It starts not at home, it starts all the way when we first get the food at the farm or in the oceans, and this year’s theme 'Food Safety: Science in Action', reminds us that evidence-based practices such as growing food organically with less or no synthetic pesticides, hand‑washing, proper storage and cooking aren't just habits, they save lives and loved ones ❤️

Food safety starts with YOU: from farm to fork, science guides every step. One safe meal nourishes, one unsafe meal can harm. So let’s rethink the way we grow and prepare our food with deeper thought because ensuring safe food today means growing healthier communities tomorrow.
