We are back again with August’s Student Spotlight 🎶🎹🎻🪈🥁

In this video, we have our student Hayley who played a catchy song called “Cheesecake Walk” by Carol Barrett. To her, the syncopated rhythm may be a little tricky, but that is what makes the piece fun to learn and it was lovely seeing her passion in music shine 🍰🚶‍♀️

We are back again with July’s Student Spotlight 🎶🎹🎻🪈🥁

We are so excited to share that our wonderful student, Linh, had won 3rd place in the 2026 Music Singapore International Competition (Category AB12) that was held on 16th - 18th July! 🏆

Competing was a big step for her, but her courage and determination carried her all the way through the competition. We are so proud of you, Linh! 👏

In the “Gavotte in C” by Handel, she brought out the lively, bouncy French folk dance and enjoyed the joyful melody. Followed by “The Trees are Heavy with Snow” by Alwyn, she had captured the windy, cold winter and mysterious feel nicely, which gives a good contrasting character for both pieces.

This year, we are excited to show you all a new monthly segment: Student Spotlight 🎶🎹🎻🪈🥁
It is where we give our students an opportunity to showcase their performances, celebrating their musical journey with our school and enjoying music!

At just 5 years old, Rui Xuan brings her own charm to Malagueña, a beautiful Spanish folk melody. Her interpretation takes on a more gentle and melancholic character, allowing the melody to sing sweetly through every phrase 💃

One of her favourite parts was playing with the pedal, which added a lovely smooth flow to the music and made the experience even more enjoyable for her, exploring different sounds and emotions at the piano!

A wonderful reminder that music is not just about playing the right notes, but about expressing yourself and enjoying the journey 🎹❤️
