๐ Seen from space: The eruption of Anak Krakatau, captured on 5 September 2026.
True- and false-colour imagery from CBERS-4, received at the CRISP ground station, shows the eruption plume extending westwards across the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra.
A Himawari-9 volcanic ash classification from the same day provides a wider view of the plumeโs spread. The eruption sent ash high into the atmosphere, disrupting air travel across the region.
