Sensei Harry Ng Cheng Kan began studying Aikido in 1962 under Sensei Teddy Lee Meng Kam, a student of Sensei Masahilo Nakazono who founded the Aikido Federation which is first Aikido dojo in Singapore. In 1987, Aikikai Singapore was established with Sensei Harry helming the role of Chief Instructor. Under his leadership, Aikido was popularised in Singapore and gained recognition internationally.
