Today is the 4th anniversary since the passing of our beloved Shihan Harry C. K. Ng, who spearheaded the development of Aikido in Singapore when this arts was still in its infancy stage in Singapore.

Although he had passed on, his words and teachings lingers in our minds as if he mentioned it just yesterday. He liked to remind us to keep the Beginner’s Mind which has many possibilities! To let go of our ego and aggression to harm the opponent, which stiften our techniques and movements. To train with a sincere mind and perform the techniques wholeheartedly from beginning till the end.

We may not be in control of WORLD PEACE.
However, the Aikido Community can FEEL, BLEND and MOVE as ONE and continue to train in Peace and Harmony.

There are no winners or losers in Aikido. It is a way to unite human beings.

Aikido: A Japanese martial art practiced by millions Emphasising self-defence rather than victory, Japan's youngest martial art brings both new and veteran practitioners from across the globe to Tanabe, the town where it was born.

We are pleased to have trained with ZhenQiShu Aikido on the evening of 4th July 2023. It was a great experience to practise a different form of aikido style and hone our techniques against different aikidokas of varying physique.

As Singapore exits the acute phase of pandemic to endemic, Shoshin Aikikai Singapore is pleased to welcome our first batch of yudansha since Covid began.
Congratulations to the following in receiving their promotion and certificates:

Today is the 1st anniversary since the passing of Shoshin Aikikai Singapore's founder, our beloved Shihan Harry C. K. Ng.

Shihan Harry had dedicated the last 60 years of his life to the mats to promote the development of aikido in Singapore. Yesterday's training was a simple way for us to remember and reflect on his numerous teachings, e.g.:
a) The Beginner’s Mind has many possibilities!
b) Come for training, even for 15 minutes or half an hour, it will serve you good in keeping yourself healthy and hone your techniques
c) Let go of your ego and aggression to harm the opponent, and so will the stiffness and tension in your techniques and movements
d) Always train with a sincere mind and perform the techniques wholeheartedly from beginning till the end
e) Aikido is like a charity, you take and give back what you receive
f) Harmonise the mind, body and spirit to move as one
