Nritya Sangamam- Perform with Purpose, the annual performance of Odissi and Bharatanatyam by students of Chitrakala Arts is an event very dear to everyone in the Chitrakala Arts family. What started out in 2012 as a small dream has grown leaps and bounds. So much so that for the first time in all these years the program had to be split into two sessions to accommodate all the students. Our special thanks to our Chief Guests for the two sessions- Mr Venkat Padmanabhan and Ms Aparna Temurnikar for gracing the occasion with their presence. Very proud of our assistant teachers Parvathy Varma, Abirami Ramesh, Neeharika Bodepudi and Kryisha Anjali Rajan for their invaluable contribution. Our gratitude to a wonderful audience who helped us raise funds for Hastha Foundation, Chennai which was the beneficiary for this year’s Nrityasangamam-Perform with Purpose.

Over the years we’ve attended many music concerts and come back feeling happy and the memories of that evening linger on for a couple of hours and then we carry on. But listening to Ranjani-Gayatri at the Esplanade Theatre as part of SIFAS Festival was a whole new experience. They transported us to different level which in my thinking can be achieved only with total dedication & submission to the art that they practice. Their calm demeanor only added to this divinity. And we came back feeling elated, calm and the feeling is surreal and persistent. Thank you Ranjani-Gayatri for giving us such a beautiful evening that it is etched in our memory and we cherish it.

My Guru, mentor, role model and much more all rolled into one—my dear Guruji Saroja Vaidhyanathan. You gave me the biggest gift, the gift of dance that I cherish every day. You’re the best teacher I’ve known—sincere, patient, totally committed to your students and I’ve always aspired to be like you. It’s hard to accept that I won’t get to see you or hear your voice again. It’s the end of an era and we as your students will keep your legacy going🙏🙏
