My child’s pens and messy work.
At first glance, it looks like chaos.
The scribbles, mistakes, and confusion. But to me, her parent watching, it’s growth in progress.
The pens represent tools of learning. Each one leaving a mark, some bold, some faint. The paper bears the struggle of a mind trying to make sense of numbers, just as the soul struggles to make sense of life. 😭😭😭
In Islam, every mistake is not failure, but a step toward understanding. Whether it’s a wrong answer in math or a sin in our journey. Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And say, ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge.’” (Surah Taha 20:114)
Knowledge doesn’t come instantly or neatly. It comes through error, correction, and persistence. The scribbles are signs of effort, not imperfection. Just like our lives, full of crossed lines, retries, and learning, all written by Allah’s decree.
And the pens? They remind us that every stroke counts. The ink may run out, but the intent to learn and grow is what remains in the sight of Allah. This is me, trying to make sense of life.

Have you ever felt that you are never satisfied with life and always wanting to have more of this and that which lead you to working so hard till you have no time left to perform ibadah and carry out responsibilities at home?
Be careful. Becos that can be one of the disease of the heart - Hubbu Dunya ie Love for Dunya.
To cure that disease of the heart, one can recite this doa that was made by Prophet Sulayman a.s.
Let's break it up one by one.
"My Lord, enable me to be grateful for your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents" -
Here, we are asking Allah to make us grateful for what we already have. We are taught to focus on the NOW. What we dont have, and what we havent receive, that is not important. What is important is we focus on all the blessings that we have already received from Allah. And this is the crucial step for being a grateful servant.
Take a moment and write down your blessings and thank Allah for them.
Remember: If you are grateful, Allah will give you more.
"...and do righteousness of which You approve" -
Here, we are asking for Allah's redho for all the good deeds we have done and will do. Not all good deeds are followed with Allah's redho because of the intentions that is linked to them.
Start making intentions that all our ibadah done is only to get Allah's redho.
"...And admit me by Your Mercy into (the ranks of) Your righteous servants" -
We can only enter Jannah with Allah's mercy. And to be a soleh too, is with Allah's mercy. This is to teach and remind us to always be humble. Our intelligence, success, good children are all from Allah's mercy and not from ourselves.
May your heart find peace today and till Yowmul Qiyammah ❤

I wrote this on my 6yo daughter's cupboard door to answer her everyday question on "Why must always study?"
Hope this will be engraved in her memory bank.
Need to pick up some artistic skill to make it more pleasing to her next time. In shaa Allah!
