Large buildings require significant resources and generate substantial waste. As a result, stakeholders are placing greater emphasis on transparency in sustainable asset management. Today’s customers and potential lessees expect clear, measurable, and credible sustainability practices.
The good news? Sustainability in operations has never been easier to implement, measure, and communicate.
The Sustainability in Building Design and Operation course explores how to build a comprehensive sustainability strategy grounded in clarity and transparency. You’ll begin by learning how daily operational efficiency can support broader sustainability goals through effective environmental policies, practices, and responsible product selection.
You’ll also gain insights into leading green certification standards, including LEED and Green Globes, and evaluate their application in both new developments and existing buildings. Through real-world observation of a LEED-certified building, you’ll understand the criteria and benchmarks that define sustainable building performance on a global scale.
Beyond strategy and standards, the course emphasizes action. Discover how to engage employees or residents in sustainable practices by forming a “green team” – a dedicated group that drives waste reduction and energy conservation initiatives while contributing to your bottom line.

Realizing their massive impact on people, communities, and the environment, businesses nowadays are evolving – for the better.
Through the B Corp movement, more companies are embedding ESG into the heart of how they operate — building workplaces and systems that are more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable for everyone.
People are driving this shift by ensuring responsible business practices and governance are consistently upheld.
Meet Premindra Karunaharan, one of the ESG Analysts helping power the internal systems and methodologies for GOOD at Genashtim.
Before joining Genashtim, Premindra spent over 20 years running his own pest control business. Today, he applies that operational and business management experience to ESG work involving:
-ESG frameworks interpretations
-Research and mapping standards
-Sustainability risks and opportunities analysis
-Internal processes improvement
The job of an ESG Analyst requires extensive and deep knowledge in sustainability – Premindra’s previous experience in operational and business management didn’t prepare him for this completely new field. Having joined Genashtim in November 2025, he admits that his transition to ESG has been a steep learning curve.
Premindra joined the company after his left leg was amputated, leading to the closure of his business. He then found Genashtim and saw a chance to rebuild his professional life and adapt to his new normal.
Genashtim’s inclusive culture and remote working environment gave him the opportunity to regain confidence, continue contributing professionally, and grow in the fast-evolving ESG field.
When asked how he wants people to see him, he shared:
“My disability is part of my life, but I don’t want it to be the only thing people see. I believe experience, work ethic, adaptability, and attitude matter just as much.”
This is what breaking barriers looks like.
Follow Genashtim for more stories of talent, resilience, and inclusion shaping the future of work and sustainability.
