Gen Z (born approximately 1997–2012) and Gen Alpha (born approximately 2013–2024) are often labelled "difficult" or "entitled." In reality, they simply grew up in a different world from previous generations – one that has shaped how they learn, communicate, and view the world.

As they rewrite the rules for technology, collaboration, career expectations, and well-being – they’re changing the world – and it’s important to work with them by cultivating a deeper understanding of their thoughts and ideas.

While their perspectives may challenge established norms, understanding them doesn't require changing who you are. It simply begins with listening, staying curious, and being open to new ideas.

Through truthful, respectful, and empathetic conversations, the generational gap can be closed and mutual progress can begin.

Swipe through these 10 simple ways to better understand the next generation and discover how stronger connections start with mutual respect.

How can sustainability become a source of competitive advantage?

Last month, Genashtim had the privilege of hosting Professor Christopher Marquis of Cambridge Judge Business School for an executive session on Sustainability and Competitive Advantage.

Leaders from across industries gathered to explore how organizations can embed sustainability into business strategy, strengthen long-term resilience, and create meaningful value for stakeholders. The discussion reinforced one core idea: sustainability creates the most value when it's embedded into business strategy, rather than treated as a compliance exercise.

Beyond the insights shared by Prof. Chris, the session created an engaging space for participants to exchange perspectives, challenge conventional thinking, and connect sustainability principles with real-world business experiences.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Professor Christopher Marquis and everyone who contributed to the discussion.

Through our partnership with eCornell, Genashtim remains committed to creating learning opportunities that help leaders navigate complex business challenges and drive lasting organizational impact.

How is your organization embedding sustainability into strategy? Let's build that capability together - explore our eCornell executive certificate programs. https://genashtim.sg/ecornell/certificate-program/

A reliable business starts with reliable technology, and the people who keep it running.

Team members need secure, stable online access and systems must run smoothly across multiple countries and time zones – but technical interruptions are inevitable. When such glitches occur, Samuel Chibuike, one of our dedicated IT Remote Support Specialists, jumps in to resolve the issue, ensuring everything is on track.

Samuel not only provides IT support to colleagues, but he is also entrusted with assisting clients and partners worldwide. From troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining cybersecurity standards to onboarding new employees and developing mobile applications, his work keeps our global operations connected, secure, and productive.

For Samuel, his work has a deeper meaning because of his passion for accessibility.

Living with ADHD, Samuel understands that technology should empower people, not create barriers. He serves as the lead in providing support for Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA) or screen reader technology used by visually impaired colleagues and stakeholders so they can access their work independently and confidently. He's also part of the team developing an exciting accessibility-focused mobile application that will further expand opportunities for PWDs.

"I want to be someone whose actions speak for themselves. Whether I'm resolving a technical issue or creating something that makes life more accessible for someone else, I want to approach my work with integrity, care, and genuine effort."

Samuel's journey reflects Genashtim’s purpose: creating meaningful careers where talent is recognized, diverse perspectives are valued, and technology is used to build a more inclusive future.

Our global team of professionals, from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds, delivers high-quality services across IT, digital solutions, learning, ESG, and business support – proving every day that inclusion drives innovation and business excellence.

Because when organizations invest in people, everyone benefits.

Follow Genashtim for more stories of talent, resilience, and inclusion shaping the future of work.
