Let's be real, feel-good stories can be misleading. Sure, research says our brains peak at 60, but that's not just about creating clickbait. It's about the danger of complacency. We’ve been told our brain peaks by 40-45, and only cognitive decline follows. We’ve also been sold the magical story that wisdom suddenly appears during hashtag . 𝐍𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞. Neuroscience points to a third path.
- Brain performance can be strengthened and further developed at midlife.
- Mental decline can be slowed.
- Both require 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Change behaviours first. Don’t like what you are thinking or feeling? Flip the script and start giving the behaviours you would like to receive. Not only will you become a lot comfortable with the giving…that negative self talk of being a burden or trouble begins to fade away.
