A group of Eco Club students ran a school booth at this year's Festival of Biodiversity on 6 June, at the National Library.
These students did the school proud by passionately sharing with the public about our school’s unique approach towards nurturing environmental stewards and trailblazing sustainability education in a way that makes it less “SUS”.
We see our school as a microcosm of Singapore, where students and staff can experience national initiatives such as the “City in Nature” vision and OneMillionTrees movement within a school context. Since our landscape enhancement in 2014 to bring nature into the school, students and staff have enjoyed countless teachable moments through wildlife encounters and rescue work over the past 12 years.
It was also an honour to meet Guest-of-Honour Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for National Development & Trade and Industry, as well as newly-appointed CEO of NParks, Dr Tan Puay Yok, during the GOH tour stop.
We would also like to thank many who came by our school's booth and allowed our students the chance to share their knowledge and passion.
Ever with the Best!

Learning by student, for students.
Vihaan (4 Mandela) recently conducted a student-led Excel Workshop, guiding his peers through a range of useful Excel functions and features. Through a highly interactive and hands-on session, participants learnt practical skills that many had not encountered before, while gaining greater confidence in using spreadsheets effectively.
Clear, patient and engaging in his delivery, Vihaan encouraged participants to learn by doing, creating a supportive environment where questions were welcomed and new skills were quickly put into practice.
The workshop was a wonderful example of student leadership in action, with students sharing their expertise and empowering one another through peer learning. Well done, Vihaan!

Last week, our school's Tinkering Kitchen organized an awesome session where our students made bubble tea completely from scratch!
Under the guidance of our teachers, they prepped the ingredients, brewed the tea bases, and put it all together. There’s nothing like the pride of drinking a delicious treat you actually made yourself!
It was simple, super fun, and the perfect way to wrap up the afternoon. Check out our student boba chefs in action!

Congratulations to our Secondary 2 Champions for winning Rentas Pantas 2026, an Amazing Race competition organised by PERBAYU, Nanyang Technological University! 🎉
Racing through stations that tested their knowledge of Malay language and culture, our students demonstrated teamwork and cultural appreciation. Through this experience, they grew a deeper understanding of Malay heritage and traditions along the way.
Well done, champions!

The Recycling Hub (REhub) is a new initiative launched in our school in February this year to cultivate a culture of “Recycling Right” — one of the 4Cs of our Eco-Stewardship Programme, as part of the ongoing Go Green SG campaign.
Our Eco Club recently organised the second school-wide recycling drive to encourage students to become more conscious of what they use and discard. Stations were set up for registration, checking, sorting, weighing, and collection at the REhub. Eco Club students also conducted several dry runs beforehand to ensure a smooth flow during the mass collection and to keep waiting times manageable.
Through this initiative, we hope to foster the habit of identifying different types of recyclable items and ensuring that they are properly cleaned and dried to avoid contamination.
After focusing on aluminium cans and beverage cartons in Term 1, this round focused on the collection of PET 1 plastic bottles/containers and black-and-white paper.
We were pleasantly surprised by the significant increase in participation this time. It was encouraging to see so many students showing interest and willingness to take part in recycling efforts.
Overall, a total of 190kg of recyclables was collected — comprising 155kg of paper and 35kg of plastic.
We hope to continue building on this momentum and, over time, see recycling become a natural habit even beyond competitions and organised drives.

Last week, our school's Red Cross Youth joined the global movement to celebrate the Red Cross spirit and reflect on what it truly means to serve with purpose. For over 160 years, the fundamental principles of the Red Cross have guided youths worldwide to make a difference through simple, everyday actions. In an increasingly volatile world, their priority is to work together to strengthen community resilience. Resilience isn't built on a single big gesture; it is grown through daily acts of kindness—from mastering first aid to help the injured, to learning psychological first aid to support peers dealing with stress and exam anxiety.
We are also deeply encouraged by the results from last week's prize presentation for the First Aid Championship and Excellent Unit Award. Thanks to the steady commitment of our Red Cross Youth members, our school was honored to receive Gold for the Excellent Unit Award. In the competition, our Senior Team attained Gold, while our Junior Team earned Silver. More than just accolades, these achievements represent the quiet dedication, hours of teamwork, and genuine heart our cadets put into mastering these essential life-saving skills.
Our students are truly not just volunteers. They are humanitarian leaders in training. Through Red Cross Youth, they are bringing fresh eyes and bold imaginations to the future by exploring social entrepreneurship and harnessing innovative technologies. A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers for guiding them along this journey, and congratulations to all our cadets for their hard work and for showing us what true community resilience looks like!
