Guided by our school vision of “Future Leaders, Concerned Citizens”, we came together to celebrate a meaningful milestone at the Student Leaders’ Investiture — a ceremony dedicated to recognising the young leaders who serve our school community with pride and heart.

The multi-purpose hall came alive with warm applause and joyful cheers as our prefects and CCA leaders walked in proudly. Among the audience were excited juniors, classmates, and siblings who could not contain their happiness, pointing proudly and saying, “That’s my sister!” or “That’s my brother!” It was a heartwarming reminder that every leader is supported by a community that believes in them.

One of the most touching moments of the ceremony was the handover between our Head Prefects. As one Head Prefect delivered her farewell speech, she reflected on her leadership journey with gratitude and encouragement for the younger students. Passing the baton to the incoming Head Prefect symbolised not just a change in leadership, but the continuation of a shared commitment to serve the school with compassion, courage, and integrity.

In her welcome speech, the new Head Prefect encouraged her schoolmates to spread kindness through their words and actions, reminding everyone that even small acts can make the school a brighter and happier place. She then led the school in reciting the Student Leaders’ Pledge, a powerful moment that reminded us all that leadership is not limited to badges or titles — every student has the ability to lead by example, care for others, and make a positive difference in the lives of those around them.

Day 2 of our Primary 5 Adventure Camp at the MOE Labrador Adventure Centre saw our students proudly dressed in their bright red camp T-shirts — a colour that reflects courage, vitality, leadership and compassion. As they rotated through the different camp challenges, students were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and discover strengths they never knew they had.

Through the various activities, the values of trust, responsibility and resilience were put to the test. Some students faced the challenges individually, drawing on their inner courage and determination, while others worked together in teams, learning to support and depend on one another. Throughout the day, the camp grounds were filled with cheers and words of encouragement from peers and schoolmates, creating a strong spirit of unity and camaraderie.

It was heartening to witness students overcoming fears, persevering through difficulties and celebrating one another’s achievements. These meaningful experiences continue to build not only confidence and resilience, but also empathy, teamwork and lasting friendships beyond the classroom.

Armed with their carefully packed bag or bags, our Primary 5 students embarked on their 3D2N Adventure Camp at the MOE Labrador Adventure Centre — for many, their very first experience away from home.

Through activities such as rock climbing, first aid, tent pitching, and shared responsibilities like washing their own plates after meals, students are learning important values of teamwork, resilience and responsibility.

It was especially heartening to witness students cheering on and encouraging one another during challenges, particularly at the rock-climbing station, where their support motivated peers to persevere and step out of their comfort zones.

We look forward to seeing our students continue to grow in confidence, independence and camaraderie over the next two days of camp.

One of the highlights of the Da Nang Overseas Learning Journey was the immersion programme at FPT Da Nang Primary School. Our students had the opportunity to interact, exchange ideas, and work alongside their Vietnamese peers, gaining a deeper appreciation of what school life is like in another country.

Beyond the classroom, students engaged in meaningful hands-on experiences that deepened their appreciation for the people behind everyday essentials. Through pottery-making, they experienced the patience, skill, and craftsmanship required of artisans, gaining a newfound respect for the effort behind each handmade piece.

They also learned firsthand from a local farmer about how vegetables are grown and harvested. This experience helped them better understand the hard work, time, and care needed to bring food from farm to table, encouraging them to value the food they eat and the people who make it possible.

Our Primary 5 students arrived safely in Da Nang, Vietnam, for their educational and cultural learning journey! After touching down in the morning, they headed to the Cham Museum and the Marble Mountains to deepen their understanding of Vietnam’s rich history, art and heritage.

At the Cham Museum, students explored ancient sculptures and artefacts from the Cham civilisation, gaining insights into their beliefs, craftsmanship and way of life. Over at the Marble Mountains, they experienced the beauty of nature while discovering caves, temples and traditional stone-carving practices, learning how geography and natural resources influence culture and livelihoods.

What a fun and meaningful celebration as we marked International Friendship Day—celebrated every 3rd Friday of Term 2—to celebrate friendships across our ASEAN neighbours!

With the support of our PSG, students went on an exciting ASEAN adventure during their CCE FTGP lessons—discovering how we’re more alike than we think (especially through games we all love to play! 🎲).

Our students
-Travelled across ASEAN through interactive virtual tours
-Put their knowledge to the test with a fun ASEAN quiz and
-Explored national symbols, languages, and unique cultures

It is a joyful reminder that even though we may be different, friendship brings us closer together!

Bukit Panjang Primary School Celebrates Total Defence Day 2026 🇸🇬

Our students had an enriching week exploring what it means to "Together We Keep Singapore Strong"!

Through hands-on activities, our students discovered how the six pillars of Total Defence work in everyday life. They discussed real scenarios like power outages and food shortages, thinking about how these would affect school life and how we can all support each other during challenges.

Highlights included:
🎯 Interactive sessions with RSAF Ambassadors for P5 and P6 students
🎮 Engaging recess activities with NE-mation videos and games booths
❤️ First aid demonstrations by Red Cross members
📝 A Wall of Appreciation where students thanked frontline workers
💡 A school-wide simulated power disruption that helped students experience how disruptions feel

The week culminated with students reflecting on how small actions - staying vigilant online, cooperating during challenges, and caring for others - all contribute to keeping Singapore strong and resilient.

Our students learned that preparedness isn't just about big actions, but about how each of us can play our part in building a united and ready Singapore!
