Learning to care for our world!
Our K2 children recently explored the fascinating topic of biodiversity and discovered how pollution, global warming and human activities can affect different habitats and the animals that call them home. Through hands-on sensory play experiences, they investigated real-world environmental challenges, such as the melting of Arctic ice due to rising global temperatures and how it affects polar bears that rely on the ice for resting, travelling and hunting.
As young environmental stewards, the children reflected on how changes in our environment can affect the survival of living things. They then worked together to create posters sharing simple yet meaningful ways we can help protect our planet,
including reducing pollution, conserving resources and caring
for nature.
Through small everyday actions, our children are learning that they can make a big difference in caring for God's creation.

Learning comes alive when children explore through curiosity, discovery and hands-on experiences.
Our Nursery children recently explored fruits and seeds through a sensory-rich learning experience! As they tasted a colourful variety of rainbow fruits, they observed the different textures, smells, colours and seeds hidden inside each fruit.
The learning continued through imaginative play as the children became little fruit sellers, sorting fruits according to their seed types — such as the number of seeds and where the seeds are found within the fruit.
Through exploration, conversations and purposeful play, our children develop confidence, curiosity and a joyful love for learning every day.

A little late, but our hearts are still full of gratitude this Mother’s Day.
Last Friday, our PN children lovingly made healthy scones from scratch for their beloved mothers! From learning about ingredients to rolling dough and cutting shapes, every little step became a meaningful hands-on experience filled with wonder and care. We were also so thankful for our wonderful parent volunteers who joined us. Moments like these remind us how special our school community truly is — one built on partnership, support and precious shared memories.
At Adventist Schoolhouse, we are deeply thankful for the trust and partnership of every parent. To all our amazing mothers, thank you for the countless little things you do each day, for your gentle love, strength and unwavering support. Your children are truly blessed by you!

At Adventist Schoolhouse, we brought two beautiful celebrations together (Earth Day and World Book Day), nurturing not just knowledge but character and compassion!
Dressed as their favourite book characters, our children reimagined costumes using recycled materials, where creativity met a growing awareness of how we can care for the world around us. Inspired by the story of “The Giving Tree”, shared by our intern teachers, the children were gently reminded of the joy of giving and caring for others. That spirit carried into their actions as our PN children planted some green bean seeds alongside with our parent volunteers, nurturing new life with their own hands. The kindergarten children stepped out to play their part in keeping the environment clean by picking up litter around the neighbourhood.
From stories to real-life experiences, the day unfolded with moments that sparked thinking, encouraged action and nurtured a deeper sense of care.

Our Nursery children transformed into little explorers as parents joined us for a special sharing on plants, bringing along real potted plants for a rich, sensory-filled experience. You could see the wonder in their eyes as they leaned in, fully engaged and curious about the world around them.
But the experience didn’t stop there…
Our young gardeners began their very own planting journey! With gentle hands and excited hearts, they planted green beans — the beginning of something they can nurture, observe and watch grow over time.
Moments like these remind us that learning is most powerful when home and school come together — when children see the important people in their lives learning alongside them.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parents for partnering with us and for sowing seeds of curiosity, joy and discovery in every child.

Last week, our school community came together to celebrate Hari Raya with joy, warmth and meaningful cultural sharing. As we sang along to Malay songs and listened to our Muslim parents share about the significance of the celebration, it became a beautiful opportunity for our children to learn, connect and appreciate the richness of different cultures.
One especially lovely highlight was having a parent volunteer adorn our children’s tiny hands with intricate henna art, bringing added beauty and excitement to the day.
A heartfelt thank you to all our parents for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement makes these moments richer, more meaningful and truly memorable for our school community.
Moments like these remind us that learning goes beyond the classroom. It lives in the stories we hear, the traditions we experience, the cultures we celebrate, and the community we build together.
