🌟 Important Update for Parents: MOE’s New High Ability Programme (HAL) 🌟
Dear Parents,
From 2027, Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE) will phase out the long-running Gifted Education Programme (GEP) and introduce the High Ability Learner (HAL) Programme. This exciting change means more children will have access to enrichment opportunities right in their own schools.
✨ What’s New?
Inclusive enrichment: About 10% of each cohort will benefit, up from 7% previously.
School-based programmes: Activities like E2K Math & Science, creative writing camps, debate, and reading circles will be offered in every primary school.
Centre-based advanced modules: For students needing further stretch, weekly advanced classes in English, Math, and Science will be available at 15 designated centres.
No transfers needed: Children can stay in their home schools while still accessing advanced learning.
💡 Why This Matters for Your Child
The HAL Programme focuses not just on academic excellence, but also on curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. It’s designed to nurture high ability learners without the stress of one-off selection tests or school transfers.
📚 At Mathmatico Learning Centre, we’re ready to support your child’s journey with tailored enrichment that complements MOE’s new direction. Our programmes will help students thrive in both school-based and centre-based modules, ensuring they stay confident and motivated.
👉 Parents, this is a wonderful opportunity to let your child explore their potential in a balanced, inclusive way.
