We made a conscious decision to create a communal dining area — instead of having meals in individual classrooms.
And the difference has been powerful.
Children now come together, eat much better, and learn from one another through shared routines.
The space was thoughtfully designed to feel calm, open, and inviting.
Mealtimes are no longer just about food — they’re about connection, independence, and healthy habits.
And as a bonus, our classrooms stay cleaner and more hygienic too!

This is the raw footage from one of our Chinese lessons for our K2 children.
And yes - they are naming and recognising the different parts of the respiratory and digestive system in Chinese characters.
To the children, it feels like play.
To us, it is powerful evidence of how capable young children really are when learning is play-based, interactive and thoughtfully designed.

This year, our little ones had an extra special Children’s Day! They were treated to some good splashin’ fun at our Children’s Day water event!
We were blessed with amazing weather on that day, and our event started out with a safety briefing for all our children, parents and teachers. With 4 different stations set up in the pool for water polo, water target, wading pool with water toys and paddle boats; the children had so much fun!
The highlight of our event is definitely the paddle boats! 🛶
It was truly an enjoyable and unforgettable activity for our little ones.
And with this, we wish all our children at Maplebear Alexandra a Happy Children’s Day!!! 😊
