Dear friends,
After 17 years of making footprints of change, Project Happy Feet will be ending its operations.
Since its first project to Siem Reap, Cambodia in 2008, Project Happy Feet has raised and disbursed more than USD1.3 million to support education programmes that make learning possible, empower lives and alleviate poverty in Cambodia, India, Nepal, Vietnam and Singapore.
We were able to give away 100% of the funds we raised because we operated on a 100%-volunteer run model with all costs covered by corporates and individuals.
Over the years, we were successful in carrying out a number of innovative fundraising projects. Flagship events like Chefs for a Cause and PHF Slipper Race grew in popularity and size over the years, attracting thousands of corporate organisations, government agencies, community groups, families and friends.
None of these would have been possible if not for the hundreds of volunteers who have contributed their ideas, time, energy, connections and resources.
As the landscape evolves with many more fundraising options now available for our developmental partners, we saw a lesser need for organisations like PHF which was set up purely for volunteers to run fundraising projects to fund specific overseas programmes.
We’re grateful for the countless supporters and partners of Project Happy Feet who have made this journey possible and the impact real.
We shall look back to the many projects we ran with fondness, and hope our collective memory of PHF’s past will serve as an inspiration for us to continue our own journey of making footprints of change.

This year, a total of 2,500 families benefitted from this initative. 14 Chefs led by Chef Jimmy Chok gave of their time, resources and culinary expertise by being part of the Chefs for a Cause 2019 organised by volunteers of Project Happy Feet on 7 July 2019 at Huone Clarke Quay (incidentally, Project Happy Feet was formally established on 7 July 2009!). 100% of proceeds were donated to started a School Life Fund (managed by South East Community Development Council) and to support the Lower Secondary School Development Programme by This Life Cambodia based in Siem Reap. The Guest of Honour, Senior Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs and Mayor of South East district also whipped up a special fusion dish which was auctioned off to further support the cause. With South East Community Development Council matching dollar-for-dollar the portion of funds donated to School Life Fund, the event raised in excess of SGD32,000 for education of underprivileged children in Singapore and Cambodia. Project Happy Feet would like to thank all sponsors, partners, donors, volunteers and the 14 chefs who made it happen: Jimmy Chok (JC Concepts), Pang Kok Keong (Sugar Daddy Group), Daniel Sia (The White Rabbit), Daniel Tay (Foodgnostic and Old Seng Choong), Ho Chan Fei (One Degree 15), Forest Leong (Sam Leong @ Forest), Louis Tay (Aston Group), Phillip Lee (Indoguna), Xu Tianmu (Project Chef), Anderson Ho (Snorre Food), Robert Chan (Parkroyal on Kitchener Road), Benjamin Tan (The White Rabbit), Ken Zhang (Warehouse Hotel), and Then Chui Foong (Euraco Finefood)
