On 19 May, Raffles Parents' Association (RPA) and Raffles Guidance Centre (RGC) jointly hosted a parenting talk in conjunction with the Year 6 Parents-Teacher Meeting (PTM), which was well-attended by about 300 parents.

During the session, RGC counsellors Chui-Fun and Kah Hwee shared that the A-Levels are more than a major academic milestone. They are a shared journey for both parent and child. Beyond study schedules, revision plans, and exam preparation, our children deeply need our presence, understanding, and support.

As parents and guardians, we partner our children not only through words of encouragement but also through actions that demonstrate affirmation, patience, and belief in them. Small gestures, such as listening, checking in, or simply asking how their day went, can make a lasting difference during this demanding season.

Often, our children do not expect us to have all the answers, nor are they looking for perfection. They just want to know that we are there: present during the difficult days, available when anxieties arise, and ready to walk with them through the highs and lows. Through the eyes of our children, parents and guardians are their greatest supporters, and our words carry the deepest meaning.❤️

The A-Level journey is not just about grades and results. It is also about strengthening relationships, building resilience, and reminding our children that they are valued for who they are, not just what they achieve. Together, through words and actions of encouragement, we will journey alongside them every step of the way. ✨️

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude and special thanks to the RGC team for their heartfelt sharing during the talk, and to our MCs and PVs for supporting the session and merchandise sales booth. Your dedicated efforts made this event a wonderful success! 🤍💚

The Raffles Parents’ Association was thrilled to support the school at its Open House last Saturday, 9 May 2026, as we welcomed prospective students and their families to Raffles Institution.

It was a heartwarming day filled with meaningful conversations, shared stories, and a glimpse into the vibrant learning community that makes RI truly unique. Our tables buzzed with energy as the RPA team warmly greeted families, answered questions, shared experiences, and offered a closer look into our school community.

Guests enjoyed fresh fruits, snacks, tidbits, and cooling popsicles, alongside comforting cups of kopi and teh tarik. The little ones delighted in the mini toys and goodies, while parents enjoyed the lively conversations and warm hospitality.

Our specially designed RPA merchandise was met with great enthusiasm, with many families taking home a keepsake to remember their visit.

A day like this could only have been possible through outstanding teamwork. We are deeply grateful to every MC member and parent volunteer who generously gave their time, energy, and heart to make the event such a success.

From the early morning setup to the laughter-filled hours that followed, your dedication and generous spirit transformed this Open House into a joyful celebration of the strong partnership between school and parents. Thank you for showing, once again, what we can achieve when we come together as a community. 😎✨️🌈🎉

Last Sunday, we celebrated the dedication, commitment, and heart of the 37th Management Committee at our RPA Appreciation Dinner.

We also bid farewell to our graduating committee members. Thank you for your countless hours of service, leadership, and support. Your hard work has made a meaningful difference and strengthened our RPA community in so many ways.

As we reflect on the memories, achievements, and friendships built along the way, we are deeply grateful for all that you have contributed.

More than 120 parents came together on Saturday for the RPA/RGC “Helping Your Teen Thrive in RI” session—an enriching morning of learning, reflection, and shared experiences about the JC journey.

Our insightful RGC counsellors, Kah Hwee and Jeffrey, guided parents on how to better support their teenagers: by listening first, offering reassurance, validating their feelings, and gently walking alongside them as they navigate new challenges.

This year’s parent sharing session focused on practical ways to connect with our teens—through open communication, understanding their friendships, and creating simple routines that naturally encourage conversation. The honest and relatable stories shared—both struggles and small wins—sparked many nods, smiles, and moments of laughter across the room.

Parents also enjoyed a cheerful start to the day, browsing and picking up beautifully designed RPA merchandise from a wide selection available.

We hope everyone left feeling encouraged, reassured, and better equipped to support their teens—one conversation at a time.

We were delighted to see a strong turnout of parents at the 38th Annual General Meeting of the Raffles Parents’ Association this morning.

We were honoured by the presence of Ms Melissa Lim, Deputy Principal (Organisational Development), Ms Imelda Chang, Dean of Engagement & Admissions, and Ms Chelsia Ho, Manager of Strategic Partnerships. In her address, Ms Melissa Lim thanked the RPA for its contributions and highlighted the strong partnership between the school and the parent community.

The AGM also marked the conclusion of the 37th Management Committee’s term and the election of the 38th Management Committee. We are pleased to share that Ms Jessline Lim will continue to serve as Chairperson.

During the past term, several new initiatives were introduced, including the RPA Connect series to bring parents together across levels, the launch of RPA merchandise to support RPA activities, and a refreshed Staff Appreciation Event to recognise the dedication of RI staff.

We thank the 37th Management Committee for their service and look forward to the 38th Management Committee continuing to strengthen the Rafflesian parent community.
