Here’s one for all of you that stand up in your downswing. This drill focuses on what you must do with your body in order to stay “in posture” during the downswing. - Adam Migur

The Early Extension Fix: Step-by-Step Cues

1. The Backswing Feel
• Focus on feeling tall as you reach the top of your backswing.

2. The Transition
• As you shift into your lead side, actively push your hips back.
• Simultaneously, drop your hands down until they reach hip height. (Important that at this check point, the clubhead is behind and above your hands)
• This move ensures your chest stays down and your butt stays back.

3. The Release
• Now for the tricky part: Extend your legs up while keeping your chest down.
• Fire your hands through, extending your arms, feeling as if you are throwing the clubhead out toward the ball.

4. Check for Space
• If done correctly, you should see a clear gap of space in front of your hips at impact.
• This space is what allows your hands and club to move through the hitting zone without getting stuck or forced outward.

Pro Tip: Start by practicing this sequence at 25%, 50%, and 75% speed before jumping into a full swing. It’s about retraining the neural pathways before you add velocity.

Check out how I work through finding a “Draw feeling”, and implement it into my swing

Most golfers struggle to hit a draw because they try to “force” the turn with their hands. As a +3 Pro, I try to have a really good awareness of my club path.
If you want that ball to start right and fall back to the target, this is my three-step checklist to ensure your body and club are working on the right plane.

My 3-Step Draw Process:
1️⃣ Path Alignment: Setting the tracks for an inside-out delivery.
2️⃣ The Feel: Finding the specific “release” point that allows the face to close relative to the path.
3️⃣ Body Rotation: Ensuring you don’t stall out, which causes the “big miss.”

Catch me working on this in my Phuket vlog, on my YouTube channel now!

The shot every golfer needs (but most are afraid of). ☁️🏌️‍♂️- Adam Migur

We’ve all been there—short-sided, over a bunker, with almost no green to work with. Most amateurs panic and try to “lift” the ball, which usually ends in a bladed shot across the green.
As a Pro, I’m not trying to lift the ball; I’m letting the club do the work. To hit it high and land it soft, you have to trust the loft and the bounce.

The “High Shot” Checklist:

✅ Open the Face: Open the clubface before you take your grip. Make sure you turn your body slightly left at address as opening the Clubface points the centre of the face to the right

✅ Ball Position: Play it slightly forward of centre to ensure you’re catching it on the upswing.

✅ Commit to the Speed: You need more swing speed for a high chip than a low runner. If you decelerate, you chunk it.

✅ Balance: we need to stay centred in order to ensure the club bottoms out in the right spot, under the ball.

Bonus skill move: Moving the body up as the club works down allows the clubhead to exit the bottom of the arc quicker, getting that ball higher in the air

I used this exact technique to save par on the 10th at Red Mountain. Part 1 of my 4 Part Phuket vlog series drops this weekend on YouTube! 🇹🇭📽️

Save this to practice your “touch” next time you’re at the short game area. 💾

3 Different Chip Shots. Same Technique. Different Setups.

Low Runner
- Ball in back of stance
- Face is square
- Handle is forward

Standard Chip (mid trajectory, a little check, a little roll out)
- Ball in the middle of stance, or slightly forward in stance
- Face is square
- Handle forward

High
- Ball in the front of stance
- Open the face
- Turn body left to counter the face pointing further right
- Can swing club up a little more if you want ball to go higher as I did

For all the endless types of chips shots you could hit, having a solid foundation can help simplify things. As you create new feels, and confidence builds, you can try different releases, swing lengths, wrist actions, etc. But your basics (these 3) will always be a stable in your arsenal.

If your sequencing is off, your swing will be out of sync

Sequencing is one of the non-negotiable pillars of a pro-level golf swing. It’s the difference between “muscling” the ball with your arms and generating effortless power from the ground up.
Most amateurs fire their upper body too early, leading to an over-the-top path and a loss of compression. To fix it, you have to retrain your brain to let the lower body start the show.

The Step Drill:
1️⃣ Start Narrow: Set up with your feet together. And club out past your lead foot
2️⃣ Step into trail side: Take a small step towards your trail side, and allow your backswing to follow
3️⃣The Trigger: As you reach the top of your backswing, take a small step toward the target with your lead foot.
4️⃣The Release: Only AFTER your lead foot has planted, do you let the arms fire through and complete the swing

This creates the natural “stretch” and lag that all great ball strikers have. If you can’t master this rhythm on the range, you’ll never find it on the course.

Save this to find your rhythm during your next session. 💾
