Creative Hands & Happy Moms! 🎨
Our CM2 students turned into true artists for Mother’s Day! Over three special art sessions, they discovered the beautiful traditional technique of linocut (linogravure). 🖼️
We were incredibly lucky to welcome Mrs. Marie Cognacq-Messager, a French teacher, local artist, and a mother of one of our students, to lead this 3-part workshop.
From learning the history of linocut to carefully carving their own personal designs, the children poured their hearts into every single detail. During their final session on May 18th, they chose their colors, printed their designs, and beautifully framed their artwork to create the ultimate handmade gift. 🎁
We had to keep these photos secret until May 31st to protect the surprise, but we can finally share them with you! Swipe through to see the amazing process and the dedication of our young artists. A huge thank you to Mrs. Marie Cognacq-Messager for sharing her passion and time with us! ❤️

🤝 Cross-Year Collaboration in Action!
Our Year 12 German students (Terminale) stepped into the shoes of teachers! As part of their history curriculum, Ms. Günther’s class visited the CM2 students to introduce them to the complexities of WWII.
🧠 The workshop kicked off with a deep dive into historical concepts. Our older students challenged the Year 5s to think about the term "generalization"—a perfect way to lead into the fascinating story of Georg Elser.
✨ This exchange is a win-win:
For Year 5: A peer-led introduction to a major historical topic.
For Year 12: A golden opportunity to practice simplifying complex ideas in preparation for their Grand Oral.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Erin-Agot, Mr. Cailton, and Ms. Günther for making this inspiring bridge between primary and secondary school possible! 👏🎓

How much of our lives are we missing while looking down at our screens? 📱✨
At IFS, we believe that raising responsible digital citizens requires a thoughtful, step-by-step approach. Over the past weeks, our community came together for four powerful events dedicated to navigating the digital world safely and harmoniously.
Here is a look back at our journey:
🤝 Digital Harmony Workshop: From "Tug-of-War" to "Teamwork" We kicked off this series with an inspiring workshop led by the 2C Counselling team. Parents and teens came together to bridge the gap, exploring why social media matters, how to manage digital risks, and how to lead with curiosity instead of judgment.
🛡️ Digital Safety & Health Conference: A Roadmap for Parents Next, we dived into the practical side of well-being. Expert Gazbiah Sans shared crucial insights on cyber safety and bullying prevention, while the team from EssilorLuxottica provided vital advice on how screens impact children's vision and sleep.
🎬 "Looking Up" Screening: Reflecting on our Habits Parents, collège and lycée students gathered for a screening of Gilles Vernet’s acclaimed documentary, "Et si on levait les yeux ?". Following a class during a 10-day digital detox, the film sparked inspiring cross-generational conversations about reclaiming our time and attention.
☕ Café Parents: Perspectives on Parent-Teen Relationships To wrap up this series, three of our talented Seconde students hosted a bilingual Parents' Café. They provided invaluable perspectives on how the modern digital landscape shapes adolescent well-being, touching on family communication, self-image, social media, stress management, and the pursuit of autonomy.
A sincere thank you to our expert speakers, our inspiring Year 11 students, the IFS Parents' Commission, our dedicated organizers, and the entire community for their high engagement throughout these events.

Connecting cultures, one conversation at a time! 🏮✨
Our MCC (Mandarin Culture and Civilization) students spent an incredible afternoon at Nanyang Girls' High School 南洋女中for our ongoing linguistic exchange.
After a fantastic session, our students are back to deepen their friendships and practice their Mandarin skills with their Singaporean peers. Seeing these cross-cultural bonds grow is what the MCC section is all about! 🤝🌏
✨ A huge thank you to Marie Chang and to everyone involved in making this exchange such a rewarding success. Memories for a lifetime! 📸❤️
