Tunneling in tech terms means creating a secure “path” for data to travel across the internet, just like our potato crew’s great escape! It hides your data from prying eyes by encrypting it and sending it through a protected "tunnel." Perfect for avoiding ghost ships—or cyber threats. 🚢👻
Tunneling is the backbone of VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), which protect your online activity from hackers, advertisers, and even nosy pirates 🏴☠️. It’s especially useful when you’re connected to public Wi-Fi (looking at you, café lurkers ☕). Plus, tunneling doesn’t just encrypt your data—it encapsulates it. This means your data is wrapped in an additional layer that hides the original packet headers, making it nearly impossible for trackers to know where your data is coming from or going to. Smart, huh?
In our game, Enter the Spudnet, Tunneling takes on a twist! Use the Tunneling card to teleport your ship across the board, sneaking past rivals and repositioning yourself to outwit the competition. Like in the real world, tunneling in the game is all about strategic movement and staying one step ahead of the enemy.
Whether you're protecting your data or maneuvering your ships, tunneling is the ultimate power move.

Sorting algorithms are methods for arranging elements in a list in a specific order, typically in ascending or descending order. They are fundamental in computer science and have various applications, from organizing an excel sheet to sorting e-commerce websites by price (or popularity). There are many different types of sorting algorithms. Today’s comic covered the Insertion Sort and the Merge Sort algorithm.
Although we are not going into detail of each sorting algorithm, today’s comic shows how these different approaches to sorting, result in the same outcome. However, the time (and memory) taken by each sorting algorithm can be vastly different from another and so knowing when to use each algorithm is important.
Each sorting algorithm has its strengths and weaknesses, making them suitable for different scenarios. For smaller datasets, simpler algorithms like insertion sort may perform well, while for larger datasets, more efficient algorithms like merge sort or quick sort are preferred. Choosing the right algorithm depends on the specific requirements of the task, such as time complexity, space complexity, and stability.

When a user ignores updates for a long time, a forced scheduled update is imposed. It was an experience that many of us went through. This leads to inconvenient disruptions. Hence, it’s always better to update early.

Aimbot, a notorious cheat in the gaming world, is like an unseen sharpshooter assisting players. It is usually a two part program, where one acts as an observer and the other takes over the mouse. The observer feeds information on where enemies are while the mouse pre-aims at players' positions. Just like two well-dressed 'potato' bots in suits, aimbots stealthily enter the game. One of the most infamouse use was during counter stirke, eXTREMESLAND 2018 Finals. The files were named word.exe. 🚫🕹️

Lag is often caused by overloaded/struggling or down servers. Too much information trying to go through at the same time results in a digital traffic jam! 🚗🔥

The “418 I’m a teapot” error code is an April Fools’ joke from 1998, part of the Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol (HTCPCP), which was defined in the RFC 2324 document created by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). It is alternatively used when the server just doesn’t want to handle a request.

The term ‘firewall’ originally referred to a wall intended to confine a fire within a building. Later, it took on a tech meaning in the late 1980s, describing a system designed to prevent unauthorized access to or from a private network. Just like its physical counterpart, a digital firewall acts as a barrier against unwanted intrusions, keeping the ‘digital fire’ of cyber threats at bay! 🔥🛡️💻
