No matter what content we are teaching students, to learn effectively, students must know HOW to retrieve the knowledge learnt when they need to apply them. It takes practice to learn to retrieve.

At From Tiny Acorns, we take pains to design lesson tasks that will allow students to practise different HOW-to-LEARN skills, in addition to teaching them knowledge. So our students are truly learning in a smart way and not depending on memorising and regurgitating.

We are a firm believer that if we learn effectively, we do NOT need to do hundreds of questions a week or multiple assessment books to score AL1 in English.

Primary 3 and 4 are the mid-Primary years. How students spend their time in these years can be the catalyst to transformational changes.

This is the period between the Honeymoon years (Pri 1 and 2) when school expectations are still low and writing assignments are few and the Critical years (Pri 5 and 6) when workload is heavy, expectations aplenty and stress level skyrockets.

Students who invest the time and effort in mid Primary years to hone their critical thinking, communication and writing skills will be primed to reap MASSIVE benefits when they progress to the Upper Primary years.

Our Bright Minds Lapbookers and Chinese Lapbookers programmes for Primary 3 and 4 are carefully designed to provide our students a head start in skills that take average students a long time to acquire and master. No drilling or memorising. Your child will experience a transformation in the WAY he/she learns.

Our weekly English Writing Accelerator (Pri 4 to 6) classes are unlike typical writing classes. No copying or memorising. Your child WILL LEARN to write his/her own stories and discover his/her unique writing style.
