The PYI is a cause, a rallying cry, for those who believe in passion and purpose to invest in the next generation of leaders to contribute to making a difference to our world. To promote the PY MAD (Make a Difference) spirit and approach, the Philip Yeo Initiative (PYI) is set up to support the next generation of leaders to contribute to making a difference to our world. One of its focal programme
is the Philip Yeo Innovation Fellows Programme that will support individuals who has their own MAD project/ idea with funding, mentorship, access to business incubation services and opportunities to attend networking events and other activities. Demonstrating the PY attributes of passion and commitment to making a difference, PY Innovation Fellows will embark on their own project with the support of the PYI over one year. In more than 40 years of public service, Spring Singapore Chairman Mr. Philip Yeo ('74) an illustrious NUS alumnus has contributed to Singapore's economic transformation in diverse and significant ways. Beyond his sterling achievements in economic development, he is also regarded as a passionate people and talent developer. He is known for taking people early in their careers when they have not yet had a long track record, and given them room and support to soar on their passion and capabilities. Under his charge, a generation of leaders has been groomed and developed. They have personally experienced his unique brand of leadership development and mentoring. He epitomizes passion and commitment - to always wholeheartedly believe in, enjoy and have fun with what they do at work. They learnt his principle-centred and purpose-anchored approach to making decisions based on what is right and what would make a meaningful difference, and not on what is convenient or popular.
