What does integrity look like in a world built on appearance and performance?

Is it refusing to conform?

Staying true to your convictions when everyone else is compromising?

Guarding your innocence without becoming naive?

Psalm 26 paints integrity not as perfection, but as a life anchored in truth, a refusal to wear masks for the approval of others.

In a world that rewards performance, perhaps integrity is simply choosing to be the same person before God as you are before everyone else.

In a world built on appearances and pretense, Psalm 26 is a prayer for integrity.

A meditation on Psalm 14

The tragedy of humanity is not the absence of beauty, but the ability to be surrounded by it and still live as though God does not exist.

Waiting is one of the hardest places to be, undefined, unseen, stretching the soul.

Yet Psalm 27 whispers:
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart.”

Strength comes from holding onto hope, not in striving, questioning or lamenting.

In the valley, I lift my gaze.
Arms open, looking up where my hope comes from. Before the answer comes,
His presence already does.

Waiting is hard to paint.
It has no clear shape, no defined edges.
After a while, it loses its beginning
and seems to have no end.

It feels like standing in the valley, arms stretched, not knowing when, not knowing how.

This piece became less about the valley,
and more about the posture of waiting.

Because while waiting has no form,
hope does. Hope looks upward.
It lifts the head beyond what is seen.

In your waiting, where do you find hope?
