3d-tronics is back for 2021/2022. This competition is a platform for children from all walks of life aged 8 – 15 to learn coding, digital making, computational thinking and how to build/code prototypes to solve different problems posed. The main objective for this competition is to provide all children, regardless of background, the opportunity to learn coding, digital making and computational thinking.
The theme for this year’s competition: “Making use of Technology to Build Resilience in a Covid Endemic Singapore”. Participants will have to use their microcontroller kit to create a prototype that will address the above problem statement. We believe this theme is relevant and allows young Singaporeans to make a difference together, given our current circumstances, seize opportunities and help take Singapore forward. By developing solutions to counter adversity, we hope this is an opportunity for students to draw strength from one another, build resilience and develop solutions to help the community.
To help students accomplish the above, we will be conducting free 3-hour workshops for all participants from Dec 2021 to Mar 2022. Students from lower income families will also be provided with a free microcontroller kit. To ensure students have learnt sufficiently during the workshop, the 3D-Tronics Challenge culminates in a competition where students can use their microcontroller kit to solve challenges posed, showcase what they have learnt, pique their passion in digital making, coding and win prizes/recognition in the process.

This competition encourages students to think out of the box, develop problem solving skills and app
With the world moving so fast with technology, we have decided to make it more exciting for the students, by creating a challenge that combine 3d printing and robotics to design a model that can perform a certain task. This competition encourages students to think out of the box, develop problem solving skills and applied learning science skills. It also allows team spirit among participation and

This training was conducted on a whole new level through online webinar using Microsoft Teams. Everyone was excited and enjoyed themselves throughout this process. Coding was never easy and this is not stopping them from learning and progress even further. Also, our trainers had put in a lot of time, effort and patience to guiding them along. Kudos to them for their effort! All the best and good luck to all the participants that is representing their school for this competition. Last but not the least, i would very much like to thank Infocomm Media Development Authority - IMDA and Lifelong Learning Institute for supporting this and making this happen!

Thank You for your support once again for the annual 3D Tronics. We cannot express how grateful we are for having you participate in this year's "digital making for good". Without our amazing participants, our event will not be as fruitful and successful. This year, we have 3 categories - Junior, Senior and Open and they have produce codes and prototypes to make our society a better place. We were WOW-ed by the prototypes all our participants have created. We hope you have learnt meaningful lessons and values during this journey leading up to the competition! Keep up the good work for those who has received an award this year, and for those who did not, try harder next year :)
