Last But Not Least....

-Year 4 Chemistry-
Keyframe App
(1) What is Keyframe?
Keyframe is an online platform where individuals can record, segment and share important moments of their life in organised categories with personalised privacy settings.
(2) How has cblc helped you with the internship?
As I was tasked to produce publicity materials, the CBLCβs photoshop workshop has built my fundamental skills in design. Iβm glad that I was able to deliver my intentions well through my work.
(3) How was your internship experience in a startup?
Coming from a non-business background, it was certainly an eye-opener to get to know the various processes behind a startup. In terms of publicity, I had to learn to build something out of nothing. While it may be a bit haphazard at first, a fundamental framework is important and I managed to produce templates for future use. It has definitely pushed my limits of creativity! Aside from that, I am thankful to have a team of co-workers who were understanding and supportive of each other. I know that Iβll always have someone to go to whenever I face any difficulty at work!

-Year 2 Computer Science-
-NUS CBLC Vice-President-
SupplyUI
(1) What is Supply UI?
SupplyUi is a startup under NUS enterprise that aims to provide IOS / Android mobile application screenshots for analysis of User Interface designs.
(2) How has CBLC helped or prepared you for the internship in a local startup?
CBLC has provided me with opportunities to connect with the various NUS startups and work on new projects to hone my technical skills. As a Year 2 Computer Science student, I feel that It is important for students like myself to find and work on projects that interest them. Projects play an important role in securing internships, and recruiters are likely to hire undergraduates who put in effort to continually upgrade themselves.
CBLC has also provided me with a conducive environment to work on my project in the startup. As my work environment is flexible, I chose CBLC as my place of work for the duration of my internship. The facilities make the place suitable for discussions and work. Having access to high-performing computer facilities also helped to boost work productivity and I see potential for CBLC to be a venue for work and collaboration for startup conglomerates.
(3) How was your internship experience in a startup?
During my internship with SupplyUi, I managed to hone both hard and soft skills. My job scope involved automating the screenshot taking process for android phones. And in the process, I have learnt many frameworks such as SikuliX for automated GUI testing and OpenCv for computer vision application. Being in a startup also meant working directly with the founder, Mark, an NOC alumni whom I have learnt a lot from. Mark shared with me his NOC experience including the many skills that he picked up from his internship in New York. I was also able to have a first hand experience of what it was like starting a new idea and the many responsibilities that Mark has to shoulder as the founder. Through interactions with Mark, I managed to pick up skills and techniques that I can apply in the management of CBLC as a Vice-President.

Keyframe
(1) What is KeyFrame?
Web application tracking user's milestones in life and comes with special function of connecting people with similar interests.
(2) How has CBLC helped or prepared you for the internship in a local startup?
Besides the computer skills learnt in CBLC, it has allowed me to explore my creativity in content creation on social media to capture consumer interest.
(3) How was your internship experience in a startup?
There were many opportunities for learning and growth, with no restrictions on innovations. Since founders and employees work together, you learn from the best without middle management. A small team also means more bonding as we share ups and downs together.
